Not sure it goes here but given they compare a lot of it to today's ladder matches it's pretty interesting

Wow, 25 years on Wednesday. I had just turned 11 two days before (I'll be 36 tomorrow) so mom got me this as part of my birthday. This match blew my mind. My mom, who had no interest in wrestling, but took me to shows and got me ppvs, god bless her...watched it with me, and even she was impressed.

Love that line about how if the ladder broke they'd still be standing there now. They should do one for the rematch too!

I was 10 and turned 35 this month. My mom would watch it with me until I was bout 27 now we watch the big PPVs and a few RAWs always good to see her mark out and this match pretty much made Wrestlemania X a decent show. I always liked the look of the show itself(entrance way, ropes) this match and Owen/Bret will always go down as classics.

I don’t think it can be understated how good it is that we actually have Scott Hall healthy enough to be around for these things when he so easily just could have been a statistic with all his alcohol abuse problems.

I always smile when I see Hall like this, all happy and healthy looking. I mean just in his face he looks alive compared to years before.

Man, I love Scott Hall. For teenage me, people didn’t get much cooler than that guy.

The Hall of Fame curtain calls are a little much, but I could listen to the Kliq watch matches and bullshit with each at least once a month as a Network special.

This was fun, thanks for posting it. I got my curiosity piqued by wrasslin thanks to Midway's Wrestlemania Arcade game. When I decided to rent a WWF videotape, I went into Blockbuster and saw that WM10 was the one that had most of the roster I recognized on it, including my favorite to play as: Razor Ramon. I never looked back.
Was Savage-Crush really after this? I thought Savage said that comment to Hall because the 10-Man tag had to get cut due to how long this went.

No. Savage-Crush was like 3rd or 4th on the card, before the midshow Luger/Yoko title match. Match placement wise, the 10 man probably was right after HBK/Razor - back in them days, you didn't tend to end the PPV with 2 hot matches in a row, so you'd put a filler match in between as buffer to give the fans a breather. The 2 matches on the card that probably "went long" were Bret/Owen and HBK/Razor - well worth those efforts, so losing the 10 man tag was unfortunate (I've always enjoyed midcard matches on Manias; plus those 10 guys may've lost a WM payday) but......well, look what we got.

I’m so happy to see how well Hall is doing. He’s got an amazing mind of the business. I could listen to him talk wrestling for days.
Also I’ve heard Hall talk about that Savage comment on other shoots before and he just misremembered here. Savage said that because they went long and it caused the cancelation of the 10 Man tag and Bret and Yoko was originally supposed to be much longer. In that instance, Shawn and Razor was a blessing in disguise. What the hell were exhausted Yoko and Bret selling a leg going to do with significantly more time?

The Savage-Crush match still wound up being one of my favorite wrestling matches of all time anyway.

I actually wish we had got more of them talking about the match. Like a director’s commentary.

The ending was great, with HBK trapped in the ropes.

They still got paid. In a shoot interview Rick Martel, who was scheduled to be in that match, said he himself wasn't bothered as he still got his money and had already been on several WrestleMania's but felt bad for the other guys in the match as most of them (Smoking Gunns, Jarrett, Holly, 1-2-3 Kid)) had never been in one. I understand why Savage was so pissed at Shawn and Razor as it must've really sucked for the guys in that 10 man tag to get the rug pulled out from under them on such short notice.

Shawn apparently is determined not to let Luger win the Wrestler From this Show Who Has Aged the Worst Award.
