With Kofi going against 5 guys, I figured there would be a DQ finish in there. I thought for sure it would have been Orton losing by DQ considering his high profile match with AJ at Mania. Out of all 5 guys, Rowan would have been the guy most likely to eat a pinfall. In hindsight, would you have rathered Orton getting disqualified early on by going into "not giving 2 f's mode" where either Joe or Rowan were the final two? Overall, I thought it was really odd booking considered Orton seemed to be the one who most needed to be protected.

It didn't matter, the shitty finish to the show rendered the whole thing a giant waste of time that no one will remember by tomorrow.

It makes sense in context, though. Rowan didn't give two f***s about trying to actually beat him to win the match and getting bound by wrestling rules, he just wanted to soften him up with the extra-curriculars so someone else could feed on the scraps and so his intellectual peer doesn't have to worry about defending the title against Kingston.

Haven't watched yet. There seriously weren't any New Day or AJ shenanigans? He basically beat everybody straight up?

They have been silently playing up the Kofi vs. Orton 2009 incident ever since the push began, so I'm not surprised that Kofi beat Orton clean. R♻WAN, on the other hand, is essentially hired muscle, so of course he's going to be the one more likely to go the direct sabotage route.

I’m more peeved over their constant booking of champions losing in non title matches. Aside from Lesnar & Rousey, no champion in recent memory is immune from it.
But I agree, Rollins last night, Orton tonight...big stars should not be getting pinned close to a WrestleMania match. Even Cornin ate a pin last night.

Orton's match should, in theory, be lower on the totem pole than the WWE title. If Kofi is challenging for the top title on Smackdown, he shouldn't be losing to anybody.
And Orton has never been an untouchable main eventer anyway. He's like The Rock in that losing doesn't really hurt him and he always keeps his heat.

Orton’s unique in that he’s not at that level where he (as we’d say) becomes bitch-made when he loses matches cleanly. He still manages to retain his heat even in defeats.

It was a quick roll up. I don't think it makes much difference.

Rowan had the power of the Bludgeon Brothers theme running through his veins.

Kofi needed to beat Orton due to their history. As for Rowan, it doesn't make any sense for him to have a legit match with Kofi when he's just there to soften Kofi up for the other opponents. Out of all the guys who can be DQ'd he'd be the most likely one.

It is kinda weird to have him do it near the end

It is kinda weird to have him do it near the end If they would've did the Rowan beatdown right at the start then it would've made it even more far fetched to have Kofi beat four other guys after taking a vicious beating like that. Beating the first two road blocks (Sheamus and Cesaro) while still in good shape and then having Rowan destroy him half way through to soften him to be stopped by someone else only to have him eek by Joe and Orton with fluke flash pins was more plausible. I thought they booked it almost perfectly.

Eh, roll-up wins are not really a problem.
Didn't Kofi already beat Orton via pinfall a few years back when Orton was champ?

tbh
as soon as Orton screamed "STUPID" after the commercial break directly to the hard camera, while he was beating Kofi on the outside of the ring I understood. Orton was selling for Kofi as best as he could-- without a successful RKO kickout.
You don't "beat" RKO without kicking out of the RKO. Kofi got lucky but at the same time we could also say Joe and Randy went 'easy' on Kofi cause they know he's in the right as a Superstar against The Authority.
But the 'STUPID' was a clear callback in a night of callbacks on SDLive (Bryan calling Kofi a "B+ Player", IIconics stealing the show in the most unlikely of ways because it's SDLive and it's a tag team booked correctly FOR ONCE IN THE WWE, Miz repeating the hot fire of his Talking Smack promo, and of course the epic Randy Orton/Kofi Kingston fued on Smackdown! o.g.).
With Batista 'technically' being on the Blue Brand and his feud with HHH at 'Mania, it's seeming like Smackdown has more traditional booking than RAW and I sorta like it
