Cody said on Twitter this is not news, he is just collecting Dusty trademarks. Take that for what it’s worth.

A BattleBowl: Lethal Lottery may actually work better in the modern era when the face/heel divides aren't so hard.

I thought WWE owned those names just for to have the events on WWE network reasons.

I thought WWE owned those names just for to have the events on WWE network reasons. They might file an opposition. Some company a few years ago wanted to make a line of World Class Championship Wrestling action figures, and WWE got it blocked.

I don’t think this is real. The wwe bought those names twenty years ago.

I don’t think this is real. The wwe bought those names twenty years ago. Depends on whether or not WWE let those trademarks lapse. It's possible. It's why they had to buy the Wargames stuff back from MLW.

I don’t think this is real. The wwe bought those names twenty years ago. As someone mentioned, the key reason MLW got the War Games trademark was because WWE let a whole bunch of WCW names lapse a decade into buying WCW because they never used them. Hell, they only filed for the name Starrcade a couple of years ago JUST to do those Starrcade house shows.

I hope Cody is able to get trademarks. WWE should be able to own every friggin thing in wrestling, especially stuff they themselves didn't create. They would be the first to degrade another promotions idea until they own it and are able to use it for themselves for profit.

Biggest Example: Why have we called it WW*E* since 2002? ??

Neither of those were times WWE let a trademark lapse, though. Those were court rulings saying they couldn't use those marks anymore. The guy who owns "Superstars of Wrestling" first used the name in 1979 but didn't trademark it until 1993 after he got WWE barred from using it.

Right I was more responding to what he is claiming. If you don’t use it, you lose it, when it comes to trademarks. Presumably either AEW will use the marks or Cody will in putting out T-shirt’s or something.

Does having shows with those names streaming on WWE Network count as WWE using them? If so, I would imagine they would be considered common law trademarks.

Bash at the Beach was a great PPV and I’d love to see it again.

For all the silliness WWE did when Dusty wasn't with them (Virgil, Akeem, Reo Rogers) and for them using him and treating him as a legend only when they had or needed him, it will be good if Cody can get one up on them.

I could be wildly wrong, feel free to correct me, but for trademark to stand, you need to be shown to be using it consistently so if someone else were to use it and you don't do anything with it, they have a right to claim trademark over said thing because you didn't protect it. There's a difference between "We have the older Bash in the Beaches on our service" and "Welcome to the biggest party of the summer, Bash in the Beach 2019!"
