This guy has completely changed the world of WWE, and for the better. Other sports as well.
I know it may be a difficult topic for them, but I think WWE should embrace it. His work has saved lives.

I fully support this, and not just because there’s an off chance he’ll show up in a top hat with a watermelon/ banana.

Man, that concussion he suffered at the hands of Mysterio and Edge still makes me cringe just watching it.

Honestly, that concussion was a blessing in disguise. Let’s face it peeps- he is way too smart to be a pro wrestler. He is doing what he should be doing. And helping a lot of people and making a giant impact in all of sports.
I fully support him for this.

Didn’t he leave on bad terms because they wanted him to keep wrestling through his concussion?

100%
The Head Games documentary is fantastic. Watching him get into it with the high school athletic director is crazy. They made sure no students could attend his presentation to ask questions, and then the AD flat out said he played kids with concussions.

Much as he deserves it, it’s as likely as the NFL extending a thank you to Dr. Omalu.

Or just rename the award after him.
He (along with a million other people) deserve the namesake more than Jim f***ing Hellwig.

If the WWE really wants good PR, they should do it.
That said, it is too touchy of a subject for them to do it. While they are infinitely better than in the past, they still have a bad history with this subject. I don't think they should be condemned off hand for their past sins given how little was known back then.

It'll never happen.
It should. But it never will.

It would be ironic since after the Benoit murders and when Nowinski analyzed his brain and found all the concussion damage, the wwe pretty much called his findings pseudoscience.

Nowinski and the Concussion Legacy Foundation have done a lot not just for pro wrestlers, but for athletes of all sports and soldiers who are at risk from concussions and head trauma. I don't know what the current terms he and WWE are on, but he absolutely deserves that sort of honor for all the good he and the CLF have accomplished.

No.
Not because WWE wouldn't offer. But because I don't think Nowinski would accept it.

The amount of concessions and humility necessary, from WWE, for this to happen...you may as well ask for the sun to rise in the west.

WWE would have to admit that they endanger their performers because Mick Foley was told by Chris that even bumping sends smalls shockwaves to the head that could deteriorate into concussions.
That would be like the nfl admitting that people are not supposed to play football.

Man, that concussion he suffered at the hands of Mysterio and Edge still makes me cringe just watching it. For what it’s worth, he said in the Jericho podcast that it was Taz who gave him the concussion by giving him a chair shot to the head without telling him. So its Taz’s fault.

This is the only time I will ever say this about anyone, but I think Otunga should induct him. Present both of the Harvard guys you've ever had in one segment and the whole thing looks more prestigious.

Didn’t he leave on bad terms because they wanted him to keep wrestling through his concussion? He wrestled for almost 6 months after that concussion he got at the 2003 Rumble. He retired at the beginning of the summer but he was still on payroll - I recall him being one of the WWE liasons at the 2 political conventions (one of them being in Boston) in 2004. It was while he was still there, I'd thought, that he began his career with concussion awareness, writing about it and forming his foundation. See, I was under the impression that he left the WWE on bad terms later on, in 2007 when he contacted doctors and the folks in Georgia to look for CTE clues with Benoit after the murders (which was essential proven to be correct). From what vague memories I can recall, the WWE did *not* care for that at the time and cut ties. They've been reconnected somewhat since but barely.

It won't happen for all the reasons mentioned but also because the Warrior award is meant to be a cushy, PR-friendly charity award, and there's no feel-good headlines to chase in inducting someone spearheading efforts to look into athletes' health.
