I watched about 3/4 of it. It was interesting but damn. I wasn't a huge ECW fan to begin with so I didn't have an emotional connection to the story. It was good but I got tired of hearing a guy talk about doing a bunch of coke & then going out with the intent to harm others.

"He didn't call me when I was injured, so I tazed him in a match", followed by a laugh, is sadistic. I know the show is called "Dark Side Of The Ring" for a reason, but that was cringeworthy to the extreme.

Doesn’t make attempted murder right though.

How he did not at least break his neck from that throw is a f***ing miracle The dude snorting cocaine before his matches is all you need to know in regards to how he will treat you in the ring.

The injury came from Grimes getting cold feet about doing a balcony dive during the match so when Jack made it happen (they were too far into it to back out) Grimes tried to back out and it caused him to land on Jack's head and Jack was smushed against the concrete

Yea, it is funny they tried to frame each attack as someone provoking New Jack without condoning his actions Mass Transit disrespected him by telling him what he wanted to do. Grimes injured New Jack previously and didn't call him to check up on him. And the last dude was stupid but no f***ing way did he deserve to be stabbed 9 times (he counted)

Hunter Red was stupid and I’m not surprised Jack conned him into dropping the charges.

I wouldn't say it is overblown, more so it is just the lack of remorse New Jack has shown that f***s with people. The kid was in way over his head but New Jack was 100% wrong. It could have been much much worse. New Jack only gets off the hook because the kid lied about his age and he told New Jack to cut him Hunter Red was an idiot for that. I give him credit for trying to play the carny game buy you should known damn well New Jack wasn't sticking around for you.

What felt like going through a series of horrific acts he's somehow got away with for all of us seemed to be like reliving his greatest hits for him.
No remorse, just pride and a good laugh.
I like this series a lot but that was just a disturbing watch knowing he's free in the world. People like him do not need to be glorified.

Brawl for All, Snuka and Bravo are the next 3. And I believe Owen is the season finale but I don’t know if that’s been officially announced or decided. the producers were on TiJ and mentioned that was the current plan.

I guess interest in this is why my signed New Jack DVD sold on ebay after a year on there.

I have an autographed New Jack T shirt that has Tommy Dreamers blood all over it from 1996.
This reminded me how much 14 year old me loved the Gangstas in SMW.

Brawl For All as an episode concept is just a waste. Yes and no. It's not like anyone died, but you take a bunch of lower card workers and force them into Toughman Competitions, in a locker room that cannibalizes itself, where they deliberately brought in a ringer, and punished the actual winner... you kind of have to explore that.

The most revealing aspect of this documentary for me is that Cornette encouraged the Gangstas to get as much real-life heat as possible in SMW. I had no idea about the Ricky Morton segment...amazing bit of reverse psychology. Some of the SMW promos they featured were WAY more eye-opening than any of the hardcore footage (save Mass Transit, which I chose not to watch on purpose in the past).
Was Corny really that instrumental in the formation and heat of the Gangstas in SMW? He seems to take some sort of credit for their success, but I mainly think it's because he gave them that creative freedom in the first place.
(Also count me as one of the people who had no idea D'Lo was once a part of their stable. Time to watch some more SMW.)
