I can't wait for the 15 hour Wrestlemania 39 that's been built up on 4 hour Raws and 3 hour Smackdowns.

Yet with a third additional hour, Mandy and Sonya will still be stuck in catering eating donuts on their Youtube channel.

And somehow The Colons still won't get booked. And Sanity. And Shelton. And Sin Cara. Speaking of which, why the hell doesn't Sin Cara at least get to be on 205 Live? When they announced a new Cruiserweight show, he was like the first person I thought of.

This is terrible idea. Why would you put a 3rd hour where your biggest angles would take place on cable after you air 2/3 of a show on a network?

Between WWE's starving for mainstream attention and FS1's starving for any kind of relevance outside of the handful of MLB postseason games they have, it's a match made in uh... purgatory?

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that there is now talk within the WWE to potentially add a third hour to SmackDown once it makes the transition over to Friday nights on FOX. The feeling among higher ups is that since they have to continue filming for 205 Live, a show that never grew as successful as WWE hoped, it may be beneficial to do the expected first two hours from 8 pm - 10 pm on FOX and then continue from 10 pm - 11 pm on FOX's affiliate, FS1. WWE can reportedly gain upwards of $50,000,000 a year from FOX if this is the route they ultimately choose to take. It is by no means a done deal at this point, but the momentum backstage apparently has people within the financial community expecting this aspect of the deal to come together. It was noted how there wasn't much discussion about doing a three hour show until FS1 lost it's UFC programming to the multi-year deal between ESPN and UFC. Adding more WWE programming could be one way that FOX can potentially counter that loss. www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2019/03/backstage-news-on-wwe-smackdown-move-to-fox-652561/

Makes sense. I’ve been saying since the moment it was announced that Fox lost UFC that they’re gonna end up doubling down and buying more WWE product to fill hours on FS1. I still expect NXT, or at the very least TakeOvers, to be available on FS1 by the end of the year.

If the third hour is indeed 205 Live on FS1 as a few have said, how many would even switch over to FS1 to watch it? I mean people barely watch it on the Network.

If they got to, combine 205 and Talking Smack. Post match stuff from SDL and a couple of cruiserweight matches in between.
Just make it different from what Raw and SDL are so it isn't hell to sit through.

Keep it 2 hours and do a 30 minute Talking Smack on FS1 after the show.

This is not going to be good in the long run. I get that WWE's roster is massive and you want them to get airtime, but eight hours of live content a week overall is too much. Three hour shows always burn out wrestling audiences after a few years. And that's far too much television time to ask casual or potential new wrestling fans to invest in.

No more three hour weekly wrestling shows. Is how I feel at this point.

I humbly nominate the third hour of SmackDown to be a Talking Smack-esque show with Renee, Pat McAfee and Skip Bayless.

The question I have is who's asking for this WWE or Fox (Or both)? If I recall the WWE didn't want to make Raw 3 hours but USA demanded it.

Will it still air on Hulu along with RAW?
If not, then I won't be able to watch.
