That sounds worryingly like something you'd read on a Kickstarter campaign like 6 years ago. If the first AEW pitch video included soft ukulele music. We’re in deep trouble.

While I really like the AEW guys, and I wish them nothing but the best, the way they talk makes me feel more and more certain NJPW is going to be my go-to show for a long time.

How in the world does one property become “universally entertaining for everyone”? That doesn’t even make sense. Try and please everyone and you'll please nobody. Kenny, I love your in ring work man, but...even with the full context, oof. This has really, REALLY hit my enthusiasm and excitement for AEW. I even find BTE a bit self-indulgent sometimes with how "6 levels of kayfabe" it gets. There's nothing wrong with "being bound to being a wrestling show". Don't overcomplicate things. I feel like Kenny and the BTE guys increasingly don't want to be wrestlers but want to be catch-all famous celebrities who are taking the "change the world" catchphrase too seriously. Dude's gone from being the best wrestler in the world around 12 months ago to one of the most underwhelming title reigns in recent memory and all-in-all sounding like he's kinda done with being a wrestler. Or like he wants to be this wrestler, but also wants to be all sorts of other f***ing things too simultaneously. Omega's one of my favourite wrestlers but man he's had a rough patch since winning the IWGP title.

TNA are in the state they're in because they tried to run before they've even grown legs, deciding to be a national promotion before they had any sort of base, that should be a warning to the AEW guys. Wrestling in the 2000s is littered with promotions that overspent and planned to be 'more than wrestling' without any sort of plan or base because they didn't build slow and focus on what they were good at.

Being so tied to the gamer scene, I think Kenny (and hell, maybe the rest of the Elite too, aside from Cody maybe)'s looking to be something similar to being YouTube famous or Twitch famous, where he can just fart around and do whatever, and still have people throwing money at him just for being him.
