The Pat O'connor Memorial International Tag Team Tournament had a big ass trophy.
Same with the Wrestlemania 4 battle royal.

Wrestling Is Fun's top championship was a banana.
A literal banana. Jaka ate it once.

And like 3-4 of them got to actually keep it, maybe, the rest being a prop they reused, borrowed or rented, or broken for an angle.

Question - do they just do it? Or do they need permission from local authorities as they are essentially littering a river. Back then? They just did it. Late 70s/early 80s weren't quite as wrapped up in safety concerns and the like. The most notable of these angles was in Florida, where Paul Jones threatened to toss the Florida belt off a bridge if he won it at a TV studio taping. When he ended up winning the match, the plan was to just tell the fans it happened the following week. Except the fans refused to leave the studio until Jones lived up to his promise. A couple of hours later, the promoter told Jones to go through with it, and he and dozens of fans marched down to a bridge in Tampa, where he tossed it. Some others: Jerry Stubbs in Alabama Buddy Rose in Portland Ronnie Garvin with the Southeastern strap in Knoxville Lawler tossing Jimmy Hart's Gold Record This looks like it could stem from the Fullers, as the earliest known examples were in territories being booked by Buddy Fuller (Florida) and Ron Fuller (Southeastern). Makes sense for it to happen in Memphis Alabama, and then Mid-South (which was being booked by Memphis guys most of the time) from there. Portland I dunno about. Ok thank you for explaining.
