Well yeah, my bigger point is whether he is still vegan or not this character is influenced by him. He has the ammo being a vegan or former vegan to speak on this topic and turn his rhetoric up 100 percent Well yeah, he is very much the super green hippy type he's portraying. He's just amping it up 200% and being a Holier than Thou Zealot about it. honestly doing that is probably the only real way to get people to boo him as it is such a departure from hero of the downtrodden yes movement Daniel... and in fact openly cuts down it, and that is the only real way to start getting boos once you hit a certain level. See Mick Foley Anti-hardcore, SRS Jericho, etc. Also, see Straight Edge Society CM Punk, though that was pretty much just Punk amped up to about 105%.

from all reports Bryan's a pretty chill dude and didn't even start shooting after Necro Butcher started punching him for real makes me think no. Has anyone other than The Ryback, who just didn't seem to get Bryan's sense of sarcasm, even ever said much bad about Bryan? I think I've only really seen complaints about him being a very tough trainer, but even then not in a "He was abusive and the worst" kind of way, just that he was very extreme and demanded everyone take it as seriously as he did. He's Low Ki or anything.

I heard that the reason Reigns and Bryan haven't feuded is because Reigns is scared that Bryan will shoot on him and do legitimate damage.

That midget was actually Daniel Bryan’s son. Don’t you talk about Chad Gable like that!

I don't think Bryan's shooting without permission on anyone like that. He also doesn't really have any 'legit credentials', dude did zero college wrestling before he started training to be pro wrestler. Bullcrap “no legit credentials” I happen to know he trained Muay Thai at the same prestigious schools as one super legit CM Punk

To each their own. I personally hate this version of him. Even though I would have never turned him heel... if he was to turn heel, I would have him more like 2006 Bryan Danielson. Not some environmental vegan enthusiast with a wooden title or whatever he’s supposed to be. I just think he’s capable of being so much more. But this is what he wanted
He asked for the heel turn, this is his character
This is Daniel Bryan turned up to 100 which is why he's been able to knock it out the park imo
Not only that, but he was getting a shell of the reaction he used to. When he turns back, he'll be way hotter than he was when he first came back.

I always enjoy the theory of "Good Technical Pro Wrestler = A Legitimate Ass Kicker" Josh Barnett would clearly get destroyed in any real competition I mean Has he ever even worked in ROH

Ehh, the first few months were nostalgia
He's a hot heel in a hot program Where is the f** up?
Not having his return be a big angle similar to HBKs in 2002. Seriously, go back and watch that and tell me they couldn’t have done that with Bryan. “Daniel Bryan one of the most beloved superstars of our time is returning from a years long hiatus, let’s have him feud with Big Cass” should be enough to get the entire creative team fired. Like I said in another thread, it would be like HBK returning in 2002 after so much hype and then feuding with... Albert. If they had done that, we would be unlikely to now have heel Bryan main eventing PPVs. Comeback babyface Bryan wasn't a main eventer any more, and now he is the champion and with a fresh new gimmick that isn't the same recycled stuff. I disliked his booking at the time as well and was wondering why it was so airless, but if he had done it well he'd be another doomed, midcard Dolph guy again forever. It’s actually pretty amazing to think that as over as he was as a face before his injuries that he has been able to come back and transition into a heel role and actually get heat. This thing could have had fallen flat on its face, That's part of why I have even more respect for Bryan now. His cheers weren't as big, but I cannot BELIEVE he got people to boo him, and still does, consistently. It's masterful. But this is what he wanted He asked for the heel turn, this is his character This is Daniel Bryan turned up to 100 which is why he's been able to knock it out the park imo
We don’t know if he wanted this specific character. It’s true that he wanted to turn heel though. Pretty sure he’s not even a vegan anymore in real life. He stopped being vegan because he became allergic to soy. Not because he wanted to. from all reports Bryan's a pretty chill dude and didn't even start shooting after Necro Butcher started punching him for real makes me think no. I haven't heard this story, why was Necro stiffing him?

from all reports Bryan's a pretty chill dude and didn't even start shooting after Necro Butcher started punching him for real makes me think no. I haven't heard this story, why was Necro stiffing him? I forget the story exactly... I'll do the smart thing and post what I remember and then look for the actual shoot NB talked about it. Instead of ... just doing that bit first.... Butcher thought that he was booked against Bryan as punishment for some reason... so he was angry and started stiffing Bryan with punches and chairs.. then realizing Bryan was responding by throwing massively worked punches at him. Necro said he felt like shit afterwards and eased up... edit: can't find the shoot with my quick searches... someone else feel free to find it
