He's selling the feud so I see what he's saying but it's going to be sad if Lesnar wins. All of these interviews and comments and yet Lesnar will still be that guy.

I remember Hulk Hogan was a brutal self promoter who was in it for rhimself and it killed the industry.
Or it was the best thing to ever happen to it

This seems like the remnants of the Brock/Roman meta kayfabe bs.

In an industry where you’re an “independent contractor” and accusing someone of being in it for themselves is quite shocking.

I still have a hard time believing he's a box office draw these days. Even if he is in the short -term I don't see how that's worth driving millions of people away from Raw in the long-term.

I think there's no question that Raw has been diminished with Lesnar as a champ. Several promising careers have been setback or derailed thanks to him (not saying it's his fault, just his booking). I get that he's in it for himself and on one level I can respect that. However, I do think he is doing some damage not just to the locker room but to the WWE as a whole. They really need to take the title off of him.

Why would Brock be looking out for anyone other than himself? What a weird criticism.

I'd call both Seth and Brock interest killers. I get tired of so many guys playing PR rep for the company, but the WWE sure is lucky to have found all these independent contractors who feel such loyalty to just one possible source of income.

This mix of kayfabe/real life is weird as hell, man. I know this is how they sell matches now, but "he doesn't contribute to the locker room" is just... yeesh.

So I get he’s blurring the lines here but...wouldn’t a lot of this be Vince’s fault for keeping him if he’s that much of a problem?
And “being out for himself”? Did he not watch the Last Week Tonight piece last week because there’s a pretty good reason for it.

WWE can be so confused with their messaging. They always sell the idea that being a loyal company guy is an admirable trait. But at the same time the characters representing the management on TV are almost always evil and corrupt. Just makes these sort of comments give me a serious case of eye rolling.
Plus in reality, it's not Brock's fault he got a cushy contract that lets him stay at home. Would any of these guys seriously turn down something like that? If they're angry about it, shouldn't thye be blaming the same company they talk about loving to work at so much? The angle doesn't work in a kayfabe, or shoot scenario.

"Brock is a lazy part timer who doesn't give a f*** about the fans" has been the kayfabe story since his feud with Roman over the last 2 years. Seth's just cutting a promo.

The only people Seth should really be blaming are Vince and the WWE office. They're the ones that put this together and made it happen.

But the key problem is that, if he’s so lazy, doesn’t give a f*** and doesn’t care about the business...why not fire him? Heyman doesn’t seem like that competent a guy to actually pay a lawyer (in Kayfabe) and when management seems to get on Brock’s back too...they could just strip him of the belt and get rid? It’s just been a stupidly bizarre thing at this point.

And I get why he can’t in interviews but the logic of the storyline should mean this is a management problem, right? And if Vince loves him so much (as the stuff last year with Roman showed somewhat)...why? They never really mentioned why that was outside of “blurring the lines”.

It’s just been a stupidly bizarre thing at this point. In a company where they inexplicably sanctioned an undead zombie mortician/biker for competition for over 25 years you can only ask so many questions. I mean the guy went undefeated at their marquee show for 21 straight fights. Did nobody think this was maybe not a level playing field? The old "defend the belt in 30 days or get stripped" rule has been conveniently dropped. That would help a lot. It grates me when people call Brock lazy or selfish here. He isn't booking his own stuff. The WWE think giving him the belt and having him off TV for multiple weeks on end is a good idea. The blame is solely on them for why the Universal title picture is so bad.
