I think the move here might be to have Vince be pissed that Kofi won the belt, so he sends Woods and E over to Raw in the Shakeup so Kofi has to do it all on his own from now on. This is what I was figuring from the start. Make it seem like all the New Day are going to RAW just for Vince to say it only means Big E and Xavier since he wants the WWE title to stay on Smackdown.

If they turn any of them heel, then it's just proof that the WWE hasn't learned any new tricks in twenty years, and that they're as tone deaf as fans accuse them of being. This is the most feel good title win since Christian in 2011 and... oh. Yeah, okay.
It's quite simple. You have them as a group, and Kofi has the title. Why overthink this stuff all the time? They're babyfaces, so won't be likely to interfere in matches on Kofi's behalf. He can have some good matches with different guys. Or they can add a third member to Bryan and Rowan, and have some three-man tag matches until the next PPV.

Protect the champ and help each other go after other gold, whether singles or tag. As a unit. The Horsemen did it, the freebirds did it, the shield did it. Breaking them up or having one turn on the other is extremely lazy, uncreative and they'll be worse off in the end especially with the bloated roster.

If they have to do a heel turn, I'd rather it be a slow burn, like Big E's jealousy slowly takes over him bit by bit, rather than a straight up heel turn.
Ideally, nobody turns heel.

A slow, subtly teased Langston heel turn would be amazing.
So he'll beat up Kofi tonight, of course.

Turn E heel and break up New Day and he'll be the boring, serious muscle head he was before New Day.

I was expecting an Orton/Evolution moment when they had Kofi on their shoulders...... Glad it didnt happen although I’m sure it’s coming

There’s definite mileage in a story where Big E. while originally being all supportive of Kofi’s title chase, after Kofi won he slowly starts developing jealousy of Kofi’s successes. Meanwhile Xavier is caught in the middle.
Of course this would require the WWE to use subtlety and actually write a story, so it’s more likely that Big E. betrays Kofi for those sweet Kevin Dunn reaction shots.

Turn E heel and break up New Day and he'll be the boring, serious muscle head he was before New Day. Nah, that's not how you do it. You lean completely into his "Sexual Creeper" thing and basically make him a bigger, stronger version of Fandango's old "Dirty Curty" gimmick.

Yeah I'm thinking they'll be split in the draft but I think the send Xavier to Raw/205. They'll have Kofi and E will talk about having each other's back but E makes clear that of he gets the chance for the title he's taking it. In the meantime he goes after Joe and the US Title.
Treat it like Roman & Dean when Seth isn't around. Hell wait a while and have a frustrated Woods find someone from NXT to manage and go after E or Kofi for forgetting about him or something. That is way down the line though.

Until Big E and Xavier actually came to blows with Rowan last night, I hadn't ruled out them costing Kofi his shot in some kind of horrifying "Vince promised them the moon to screw over their friend" move.
I think it's just a matter of time before they turn one or both of them. If there's one thing WWE has no appreciable track record in, it's preserving friendships in wrestling storylines, and this one actually has the understandable possibility of jealousy.

Honestly, I could see them being happy to take a back seat to Kofi for a few weeks. Alternately, they take the titles off the Usos and complete the set so to speak.

I hope New Day doesn't split but I would like to see Big E in the main event sometime soon. If they absolutely have to split I'd want them to split the way I wanted the Shield breakup to go, a slooooow burn thing building to a world title triple threat at Wrestlemania.

Since new day merchandise a cash cow for WWE what I think is going to happen is basically they're going to turn the new day into something similar to the Lucha house party where Kofi is either going to demand three against one to defend his belt or have Big E and Xavier Woods as his bodyguard or his muscles to protect his championship?

I was expecting an Orton/Evolution moment when they had Kofi on their shoulders...... Glad it didnt happen although I’m sure it’s coming The other Evolution moment I thought of is Batista helping Triple H, then when he raises Trips' hand, he stares at the belt, all Gollum-like. Bit harder to do with these guys as they're faces (and a cash cow) so I just hope if they do anything to break them (and again, I vote for they don't have to, at all), it's not for a few months. Hell, I'd rather Kofi lose the title soon if that means the team stay intact.

If they stick around I can see Kofi feuding with Shane. They’d need to stay close as Shane can call on his goon squad to run interference.

Honestly, I'd build towards Kofi vs Big E, but face vs face.

I am hoping they get beaten up to help Kofi get sympathy for some title matches before they end up turning heel on him.

We know what would be best (split, but remaining allies possibly on diff brands), but we also know what WWE does with every team (feud them as if it isn't a tired trope at this point).

Hart Foundation 1997 rule. Collate all the titles. Compete against each other but remain brothers in arms.
