I mean, the show shouldn't be that long.... but outside of letting the Transit authorities of the approximate time the show is going to end, what else are they supposed to do. I remember when I went to 22 at the Allstate Arena it was a mess getting in AND out of the parking lot and that was a simple arena show. Oh that f***ing parking lot. When I went they had us back every car up bumper to bumper so it is literally impossible to move your cars before the car in front of you moves, REGARDLESS of how fast different people exit the arena. If you're in the back, you're just screwed.

WM is just overblown bollocks now, minus a few highlights.

I wanna go to my first Wrestlemania next year but all the stuff about getting out after sounds like my worst nightmare. Hell just leaving the 2017 Royal Rumble in San Antonio was a massive pain in the ass, I can't imagine Wrestlemania.

Are they going to blame WWE for why there wasn’t enough security to stop the asshole from jumping Bret Hart? Doesn't WWE contract the security themselves? depending on the Arena. MSG for instance have their own Security team. Not sure how it works at Barclay's

This is what I was referring to a few days ago when I called the length of WrestleMania an example of arrogance. People have shit to do! Did they think that the public transportation workers were going to change their schedules to accommodate them just because they have no time management skills? Imagine a bus driver, tired and overworked, being asked to work into the very early hours of the morning because a pro wrestling event was in town. If I may channel the Lapsed Fan Podcast, I bet his/her answer would be "I'm not about to kill myself for that fake shit."

Not sure how it works at Barclay's I think when I went to Prudential Center for Raw, they had their own security team working the exterior/concourse of the arena along with Newark police patrolling outside. While WWE's own security group worked the bowl.

I don't buy that statement for a second. For one thing, even in the days of traditional PPV for the WWE, events would run until about 11PM Eastern Time. That alone makes me think NJ transit is lying. Add to that how Wrestlemania has been going late for the last few years and it was well talked about here and other sites that the plan was for this year's show to possibly be the longest WWE show ever, I find their release questionable. So, let's just say that WWE wasn't honest with them on how long the show would be running, there is enough out there that the NJ Transit Authority should have further questioned WWE on it. Hopefully, both WWE and Miami's public transportation make sure planning is done better on both sides for next year's Mania.

Take it or leave it this is why that show shouldn't be like going on that late for that long of time. Fixed that last part for Rajah accuracy. 😊

Read this as Mass Transit and was wondering if anyone told Vince that he's long dead.

Looking more into it, it seems that there are federal regulations that limit the number of hours transit employees can work. I don't believe that NJ Transit is blameless as they at the very least could have communicated out potential issues before they happened. But that would make staffing harder on one day's notice.

NJ Transit also works on a peak/off-peak schedule, as they're primarily a commuter transportation line as opposed to an all-purpose mass transit system like the NYC subway system. They make exceptions for special events, but in off-peak times there's only like 1 train an hour or so per line. So it isn't just an issue of staffing but also getting all the trains ready. Shifting around that much infrastructure with such short notice is difficult to do, to say the least.
If WWE knew the show was going to go later than expected, they really should've given more than a day's notice to get everything ready.

Could’ve been worse. They could’ve hired the Dudleys to handle it. D'Von! Get the traffic cones!

It might just not have been possible to get enough people to work that late at under a day's notice. And even if the NY/NJ transport people should have been able to pull it together in that short a time, I still vote that this is on WWE for changing it that late when they so blatantly knew they would be making the show that long for months. "Hey you want a shift? Some shit came up" ~Every job ever. Handled. Yeah but if they're unionized and it's their day off it's pretty much impossible to force them into work. Not so simple.

I can definitely attest to this. I'm off work from April 30th until May 23rd to play host to a friend who's visiting the U.K. for the first time. Nobody at work apart from me is unionised and nobody has stepped forward to cover my shifts even with my boss asking multiple times for volunteers over the last month.

Cant blame WWE on this one. Our train lines suck, as a NJ resident all of my life, our trains are unreliable and closes for no reason

Yep, and this issue gets even worse in many regards: when you deal with NJ Transit you're not dealing with the city, you're dealing with an entire state agency, plus when you're talking about the Meadowlands line that's a special train that only operates for special events, anyway. NJ Transit has loads and loads of problems - chiefly, we've underfunded it for ages and now it's buckling under the literal and figurative weight of all the additional riders that've been added in the past decade. However, again, it's a statewide agency with a focus on commuter transit, and if WWE told them 10:30, you can't expect changes to be made in under 24 hours. Also, if WWE told them 10:30 then what the @#$% crack is WWE on? WM's been running past midnight for a few years now and they booked 294 freaking matches this year, what did they expect? Start the damn show at 3pm or something.
