How come Jeff’s wwe title win isn’t talked about like Eddie/Foley/Kofi/Bryan? I really enjoyed this one, he got built up all of 2008 and everyone thought he would take the strap off Edge at Mania, but instead they swerved us and put it on him at Armageddon. Granted he ruined the whole beating his demons thing less than a year later with the drug bust, but that moment was dope

It should have happened at Mania 25. They talk so much about "Wrestlemania Moments" and had a ready-made one right there.

Hardy in 2008-09 was a bigger star than Cena without anywhere near the promotion behind him. Too bad his demons got the better of him around that time.
I think the term “it factor” gets thrown around too much, but Hardy is the perfect example of it. I can’t say I’m a fan of his in ring style and his mic work was never great but he’s one of my favorites. Just a unique charisma and style to him.

Jeff got paid to be a complete weirdo in public for two decades. On some levels, I really envy that.

It was during the peak MitB years when the titles got swapped around a lot and there was a lot of new champions and different runs.
His story like RVD’s could have been much larger but personal demons and the titles jumping around between Cena, Orton, Edge and Triple H. Both of their wins / runs are kinda forgotten about in the grand scheme of things.

Honestly from 2008 until he left WWE in 2009 - Jeff felt like the biggest star on the entire show.
Now ten years later, he was a midcarder who barely appeared and is now a tag champion again just in time to give Matt Hardy his annual April title win.

I think the OP asked/answered their own question. The drug bust and CM Punk literally pantomime-mocking Jeff with his own face-paint/entrance Titantron was a right proper shatting all over Jeff's WWE title run sorta reminiscent of Reigns getting suspended for drugs a few seasons ago. Creative will tank someone's momentum intentionally even to the point of making you start back at Point Zero when you fail Wellness.

I like Jeff, but I had always been a fan of Matt's. The thing is, the last time I actually watched him work I could tell that he was severely broken down after all of the year's of wear and tear. Has his health improved or are they giving title wins to guys that can hardly move around in the ring now?

It’s hard to explain to people watching how under the radar over Jeff Hardy was during this time.
They’d probably see him now and think “oh The Hardy Boyz” but he might have been the most over guy in the company

Because they pissed it away on a random B-PPV in an even more random three-way match.
It was the stupidest f***ing thing in the world. Jeff spends the fall feuding with HHH for the WWE title, loses a bunch, and then doesn't even get to beat HHH clean. He pins Edge (who randomly gets inserted into the feud) to win the belt. I don't know if HHH just didn't want to drop the title to Jeff or what the deal was but they really blew it.
The reign could have been salvaged once Jeff actually won the belt but no, they just it as a way to springboard into another Hardy vs. Hardy feud with Matt that literally never ever ever ever EVER works.
There's a reason why people talk infinetly more about his program with CM Punk and those subsequent title wins than his uneventual WWE title run.

I don't know if HHH just didn't want to drop the title to Jeff Are you sure you don't know? Cause it sounds like you know.
