I think it’s as easy as that there are no royalties and likeness rights involved for a lot of wrestlers so using footage that’s theirs unless contractually they can’t is way easier than it would if you were to, say, do a Brad Pitt DVD boxset only for movies he was in from a certain studio. WWE wrestlers get royalties for physical media (home video) but not from any other distribution methods (like the Network or WWE's YouTube channel). That includes talent that were once under WWE contract but aren't anymore. Which must be a blessing in disguise for WWE with the Network pretty much replacing all DVDs they do. And before people say anything, Netflix and other streaming services don’t have royalties for content produced by them which is pretty much as messed up.

Also to add didn’t the Goldberg DVD come out around the time there were rumors of WWE bringing back Goldberg so we’re hoping the DVD would bring him back around that time?
Might be remembering that wrong.

Yeah, going from a top guy who's almost never broken kayfabe to one who has already written five lengthy books about his career and has done hundreds of interviews out of character isn't the best choice. Interesting to see when and how WWE's "You must fulfill your prior commitments" edict is in effect. I’ve always seen that rule as some kind of test of character for new talent. When Cesaro ditched his dates when he was signed in ‘06, WWE looked at it as a sign that he could flake out on them so they ended his contract before it really started. With Taker, they know he’s a company man, so the less he does these interviews the better.

Might be remembering that wrong. I think Goldberg said he had nothing to do with the production of his DVD set. It came out in 2013, long before his 2016 return.

I can’t even remember the last time I watched Taker and it didn’t just feel sad. He looked in great shape Monday.

"Why did they think you were an applicable replacement?" "I have no answer for that. Except THE CELL CHANGES YOU" Fan: "Well, okay." Foley: "You don't know what it's like to do a Q&A! The scars and anguish remain with you forever."

I paid £55 for the general admission part of the show. Without a meet and greet with Foley it doesn't feel like value for money. I was offered to upgrade for £160 for 2 people to get a photo with the Undertaker but something doesn't sit right with paying that much money just to get a photo with a millionaire.

There has been no mention of him cancelling his photo ops or signings for the Liverpool con. In fact they posted their schedule last night and he’s still booked. They have said that he’s not doing a Q&A session though.

I guess his first couple "Instagram Influencer' ad revenue checks didn't pay the bills as well as he thought they did...

Hopefully this is just to get his own Network show, Deadman Walking, a travelogue where he experiences different countryside walks and samples the cultures of all the places he visits. That would be the first non-wrestling WWE Network show that I'd watch regularly.

I know people are disappointed but I love Undertakers loyalty No disrespect, but that is not loyalty. That is being offered a better deal.

Conrad Thompson danced around the possibility of an Undertaker podcast recently. He admitted to trademarking “Deadman Talking” but said he did so only because it sounded cool. He also said that people approach him all the time with ideas for podcasts but he doesn’t do anything unless he knows it can make money. I think he had his hopes up to get Taker on board with him. I certainly don’t blame him. Taker is one of the last true superstars. When he makes a move people pay attention. An Undertaker podcast would’ve been huge. Vince will gladly pay him to keep him in his pocket.

Yeah, let’s not act like this is some big gesture of loyalty to WWE or Vince. Dude was ready to leave not long ago, doing Starrcast was a big sign of this since it’s a convention outside the WWE Axxess banner. Vince just gave him a nice deal, probably for the Saudi shows to still have him for those, and Taker accepted. That’s it.

That's good, Taker is long overdue a push.

Nah, they've happily signed guys who're proven flakes, Flair still owes tens of thousands of dollars to ROH, they hired and fired Jannetty over and over long after it became clear he's the poster child for personal demons, they hired word class bridge burners like Low Ki and Austin Aries, they rehired Del Rio after it started to become clear he was unreliable and a bit of a psycho to boot. They've signed and rehired guys who'd fail any reasonable test of character, if they have plans for you, you can do whatever you like prior to signing and they'll look the other way.
