Finished this game tonight and was wondering if anyone else had played it?
I got the complete edition real cheap so figured might as well
Looks really good, acting in the cutscenes was phenomenal I though. Good characters including Father James and Donovan (Who I would defo buy a game he was the main character in). I really enjoyed the way the story was framed with the fake documentary.
Just really hampered by the fact that it played like a late PS2/early PS3 game
I mean no fast travel? That’s a damn crime especially in an open world game. That for me is the biggest flaw. Yeah the gameplay is repetitive too but if you didn’t have to drag your ass all the way across the map just to have a conversation then drag your ass halfway in another direction it wouldn’t have been so bad
Edit: I also think I’ve heard the N word more times in the past week than I might have for the previous 34 years because damn

This was the only mafia game I managed to finish. Yeah, the no fast travel was one reason I gave up trying to find most of the collectables.

I got it free as a PS Plus game last year. I really enjoyed it, the lack of fast travel was the big problem I had with the game. I liked the setting, I liked the story & the gameplay.

I remember it being very tedious. With the terrible driving and the taking over of districts.

SO MUCH DRIVING! A fun story, but I still have a soft spot for City of Lost Heaven.

Pretty much agree, the story, atmosphere, music are all really cool. But 90% of the gameplay is the same. You can tell they originally had a way bigger plan, then just said F-it, finish it with generic missions and release it.

Considering the collosal amount of bugs it had on release... yeah it was rushed out the door. The first mafia will always be my favorite, The Story, missions, city and soundtrack are all just sublime.

It was a good game but could been so much better
I never finished it, it got to repetitive with the side missions and the lack of fast travel blew mines. I still want to finish it one day as it is a fun game but yeah it's on the back log

I got it for free, but I just found that there is a complete edition. Should I buy the complete edition?

I enjoyed it. Red Dead 2 is just as bad without fast travel IMO.

I still want to finish it one day as it is a fun game but yeah it's on the back log Exactly this. When I got my XBox One the year before last, I purchased this along with Resident Evil 7. I knew it wouldn’t be at the same level as GTA but figured it’d be an enjoyable game in a similar vein - like Sleeping Dogs. It is enjoyable enough, but....there’s something missing. Drive to a location, shoot up a gang location, repeat. The only different sort of mission I’ve played was where you drive erratically to scare the Irish gangster. A shame, as there was so much potential to the game. I might revisit it one day, but there’s no urgency to do so.

I enjoyed it. Red Dead 2 is just as bad without fast travel IMO. You can fast travel from camp though and you had the option to put the horse on the path and put it on the cinematic camera and just watch
