Okay, to make a long story short... the message board I've been running for the past 9 years died last night as SportsOnly got rid of their last boards (I had to hijack an unused one from a different directory on their site.)
Anyway, I've been looking around for a new message board to set up and they all stink.
All I want is a basic board that doesn't require users to be registered to post and is HTML or HTML-ish (no need for smileys, multiple boards, etc.)
Banners are fine, but I loathe popups.
I really don't wanna have to find a message board script to set one up myself as I hate coding.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do believe there's an option for people to post as guests on ProBoards boards. It's all about how you set it up.

Yep, ProBoards do give users the option to post as guests, but I think e-mail addresses are required or something.

Yep, ProBoards do give users the option to post as guests, but I think e-mail addresses are required or something. Can we verify that? someone log out and check. I'm pretty sure you just need a name. Edit: Ok, we can't here. But I'm sure there are others where you can just "guest." Check out proboard's support board. They have tons of info there.

I'll check on my playtesting board, and edit this post with the answer.
Edit: Guests can view, but not post unless registered and logged in. I saw no way to make it so that Guests can post as well.

Huh. How 'bout that.
OK, OTG... what are you looking to DO with this. I know of a couple of boards that are very open.
Basically, from your post, you just want a board where people can post a topic and anyone can answer. That about it?
