I was talking with my gf about the different interview shows back in the day that always seemed to have wrestlers on. That got me thinking. Would you consider guys like Regis Philbin, Arsenio Hall and Michael Landsberg to be HOF worthy based on how often they promoted the product on their show?

I would. Each did a lot to help promote the company and their guys. They DESERVE to be in the celebrity wing 1000 times more than Drew Carrey.

I mean, after Drew Carrey and Kid Rock got in I'm pretty sure every celebrity who's ever had any involvement in the industry is pretty valid.

Absolutely. As of right now I’d say the following inductees are worthy of being in the Celebrity wing:
Mr. T No explanation necessary
Donald Trump Keeping his Politics out of this. He was always a supporter of WWF in the 80s and 90s. Appearing on camera several times and hosting WM4 and 5. And then there’s the Battle of the Billionaires that helped make WM23 a huge PPV success.
Pete Rose Yeah, you could argue he was only inducted so they could make the obligatory “well, he’s at least in one Hall of Fame” joke but he did appear at three consecutive manias and was willing to get tombstones and stinkfaced for them.
Mike Tyson. People tuned into Raw to see the Tyson/Austin dynamic and then bought WM14 off the back of that. Yeah, he got Austin’s nickname wrong but due to his stuff he did with the company, he deserves to be in there. (Note, I’m leaving the rape conviction out of the discussion and going purely from a “his time with WWE” standpoint)
Bob Uecker I know some people aren’t keen on him being in the Hall but I think he was great fun at WM3 and 4. He just seemed to get exactly what the company was about, sports entertainment.
That’s it. I’m kinda on the fence about Snoop Dogg, leaning more towards him being deserving.

Regis and Arsenio outside of Cyndi Lauper are probably the most logical/deserving living celeb wing inductees. Landsberg is deserving, though I don't think he is famous enough outside of Canada for WWE to consider him for the Celeb Wing unless WM is in Toronto or Montreal anytime soon

Cyndi Lauper deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, and I'm not talking about the Celebrity Wing.

You're damn right I believe Cathy Kelley's a first ballot hall of famer.
Oh, you mean talk show interviewers.

I don't even bother arguing who's worthy, but I could see a number of celebrities being inducted. You're specifically asking about TV hosts, I think. I could see Jon Stewart being inducted, but more for his working with WWE on their own shows than for having wrestlers on his show. I think he had Mick Foley and Seth Rollins as special guests on The Daily Show, even if they weren't the interview subject of the episodes.
I could also see Jimmy Fallon who has had WWE guests on his show and has appeared at WWE events.
Regis would be nice since he's getting older and doesn't do as much in the public eye any more.

Not to be controversial, but everyone that you listed outside of mr. T a very highly controversial figures that's going to get half the crowd cheering and half the crowd booing them off the stage which is why I doubt any of those would ever be inducted unless it's a closed induction

Arsenio would be an interesting one. Might be difficult to dance around the fact that one of the most notable reasons to include him would be that Hogan disaster.

Well told you what I knew about the history of the Hall of Fame LOL I only keep track of the wrestlers not the celebrities Mr T's mother is very upset you never saw his epic speech. Show clips of him interviewing dead legends like Rick Rude and Heenan, Warrior, and Macho Man. The crowd will love it

Wasn't Regis supposed to go in at 34, but they replaced him with Kid Rock before the official announcement? Either way, Regis absolutely deserves to. He spent decades helping out the business. Absolutely. I've got a funny feeling Richard Belzer would decline.

As far as interviewers and similar type people outside the actual business, others that did a lot for the industry were Letterman and Steve Allen. They'll never be in the WWE HOF, and really, nor should they, but they at one time both were huge fans who worked their fandom into their jobs.

I always thought that Letterman mocked wrestling, so I'd figure that he'd decline when asked.
