Taking a wild stab and saying that the people who were giving her shit about it were male writers and talent. Just a hunch. you win the prize. Unfortunately, the prize is a Grammy

She should absolutely be proud of her accomplishment, but to be fair, what she did was absolutely tasteless and completely outside the bounds of professionalism. What's tasteless about sharing the joy of winning an Emmy? She earned that. She wasn't flaunting it and taunting it like a schoolyard child, she earned it a trophy for her hard work. In such a brass ring-grabby show-off work environment, that should be the exact type of expression one would want.

So, like, I don’t think this is that bad of the WWE employees to be annoyed by this. I mean, it DOES lack self awareness. Who just brings their Emmy with them to show off? This ain’t show and tell. Because it's cool to see an Emmy and share joy in your co-worker's accomplishment. This isn't weird.

Reading some of the comments here makes me think that some people haven't worked an office or corporate job before. From my past experience, I've seen coworkers bring things to show off all the time whether it's new clothes, new shoes, new car equipment and even things they've won such as awards for their talents, also presents too. I've seen people bring their food which others raved about. All of these things were shown off and it's been ok. People have even showed off their new boyfriend and girlfriend even, whatever.
The problem with this is that it relates to her profession and coworkers of hers were so jealous they started hating and snitching on her. We've seen numerous backstage videos and photos of WWE personnel stunting and posting it on the gram and here it's an issue? Nah. That's not on her, that's on them and their own insecurities.

I can understand if she was doing it to brag but considering a lot of wrestlers tweeted congrats at her, I’d guess they must have messaged her to ask if they could see it so she brought it over. If that wasn’t the case, I’ll say I’m wrong but it doesn’t seem that way. As others mentioned, not that different from showing off something new to friends and keeping it protected especially since an Emmy is a thing that you can’t exactly shove in your bag easily like an Oscar or something like that.
And in terms of Vince not wanting an Emmy...WWE literally held a “For Your Consideration” screening of WWE 24: WrestleMania 34 before the nominations came out. They absolutely know, and want, an Emmy.

I mean, we only know that some of the writers apparently weren’t cool with it but we don’t know of any wrestlers who, like I said, might have asked her to bring it to the show so they can see it And it’s not like she could put it in a locker before the meeting, it’s an Emmy.

That and her being generally well liked says people did care, hence why she likely wanted to show it off. The "ire" is from whoever told Fightful.

Just imagine how much backstage heat the Slammy Award Winnimg Owen Hart would get. Owen: I don't care if this gets me heat with all of Hollywood, Two Slammies are better than Two Emmys! WOO! Hollywood Reporter: But who leads the team? Owen: I DO! NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!!

Imagine the heat Gargano got for having 6 star matches.

Imagine the heat Gargano got for having 6 star matches. He would definitely get heat if he printed out copies of the Observer and carried them around to show the locker room.

I have years of professional theatre experience and have been a part of many production meetings. If the playwright had proudly set a Tony (for a different piece of work, not associated with the production) on the table, the company would have thought it absurd and the artistic director would most certainly have had a talk with him. It's just not something you do.

The only ration, professional, adult response to this is to book Baron Corbin to constantly carry his 2016 Revolver "Most Metal Athlete" award around with him, including down to the ring for his part in the weekly opening 20 minute talk segments.

If someone you work with wins one of the most prestigious awards in your field and your response is "Ehh, whatever" you either greatly dislike that person anyway and just can't pretend you give a shit, or you're just kind of a drag.

I'm tryin to imagine an existence where a coworker wins a coveted award, one that the company you work for is actively trying to win, and being so excited tht you bring in the physical award to show people you work with and like, and derision, heat and piss weak sulking is considered a reasonable response. Begging the staff who were annoyed somehow never learn anything from her and are stuck writing this f***ing god awful joke product forever.

But... That’s not at all what I said. I would definitely give them props, congratulate them genuinely, truly be happy for them. But, if they were carrying their award around everywhere with them, I would think that is a little tacky and odd. Like, Owen Hart literally made that a heel character. Edit: I do want to say, I didn’t realize the Emmy’s JUST happened. Like, she probably came straight from the Emmy’s to Raw, probably hasn’t even got the Trophy home. That is less tacky.

I’ve changed my mind. I didn’t realize the Daytime Emmy’s were just on Sunday. She literally just won it. I understand her being excited, maybe some people asked her to bring it in, who knows. But, there is something to be said for the “act like you have won something before” as well.
