I need to get back into this but a house kicked my ass last time. It took me like 25 mins but I beat the bastard One reason it took so long was because I had fire equipped with elemental materia to Cloud and I refused to restart

On chapter 14 doing side quests. Just ran into the Tonberry. F$^$&@(@(#*#&$^!!! I went from “Aww... that thing’s kinda cute” to “HOLY SHIT THAT KNIFE ATTACK IS A ONE HIT KILL!” real fast, let me tell you. Beat him last night. Make sure you have plenty of Phoenix downs and/or revival materia and wear him down until he's staggered then unleash everyone's most powerful abilities at once.

Same boat, nobody could do any real forms of damage and its arms take forever to destroy.

Yea, once I got to the red I just said f*** the arms Controlled Aerith more then Cloud since I can do more and i'd only have to peak in on Cloud and since he stays close it was easy to keep his ATB full It is a ton of fun to just have to manage everyone in the battles and keep a strategy. You can't just mash X to win

You can't just mash X to win It wasn't until the very end that I truly got the combat and had everyone sync up their best abilities but once I did I finally realized just how deep the combat system is. I'm itching for the next installment. Until then, I started the original again. Forgot how much it speeds through Midgar, certain parts are also a lot shorter than I remembered as well, like I thought Cloud and Aerith had a longer chat on the roof tops than they did until I replayed it.

Yeah, like right now i'm in Chapter 12 getting close to finishing the game but it really didn't hit me until like Chapter 10 how important it is to actually get these abilities and then be able to switch around with the weapons as you see fit. The combat system is much deeper then I thought it would be. Makes me wish they somewhat did the same with 15 and you had to max out weapons to get abilities but they did have something similar Yeah, I might start back up the original on my Switch. You're blowing through Midgar before you know it. You know the characters on a superficial level in FF7 original but the remake deserves a lot of credit for really digging in this early and giving you adequate time with each character including a big boost to Jessie who was just there before

The entire endgame boss battle sequence was one of the most funstrating (not a typo) sequences I’ve played in some time.

Damn, Aerith is a lot more fun to play as than I expected. I usually used her as a healer/support in the original FF7 given her limit breaks, but she's great with offensive magic in FF7 Remake, too, making her more of a red mage or sage-type.
Or maybe she always was strong in black magic in the original, too, and I never noticed because FF7 Classic wasn't exactly a difficult game.

Well, it helps that her designated attack is offensive therefore making her very useful as a long range fighter. You can attack and still use her as support

I didn't mind it Def some padding tho but built up relationship between the characters but it is a comedown from how fun Wall Market was For me it was the urgency of the situation and the train yard kinda felt like a weird detour from that. Still, didn't subtract from my experience with the game.

It is a section that probably would been better served right before Wall Market like the tunnel Thankfully train yard only takes like an hour tops. I more so used it to take the chance to finish to up my abilities on my weapons that I been neglecting

On the flip side, it was the only real major misstep which, for me, is only a good thing.

Putting the FF7Remake version of Anxious Heart here. I'm glad they didn't try to do too much to change or "epic" it up or anything compared to other parts of the soundtrack. It sounds a lot like the original, in fact.

Finished this a couple days ago. Definitely mixed opinions on it. Visually amazing, just...felt bored with a lot of the combat.
The Ghoul fight bugging out didn't help matters.
