This is being released on my very birthday. Can't say I'm not tempted to splurge on a PS4 by then and make this a birthday present for myself.

It does look great, can't wait to play it. Still wish it was turn based or at least an option for it.

Wish they'd offer a choice between turn-based and action style combat.
I'm not a big fan of popping the support characters on auto and just controlling one. I find it gets dull after a while, plus there's always one character who loses 10 HP and decides to waste a super potion or who will decide to cast fire on a Bomb.

It does at least let you switch out, and hopefully, they will let you adjust some of those things, like how FFXII had the gambits system that let you pick how often a character would do things, like "use potions at 30 percent health", etc.

I've been skeptical of the whole thing but it appears they have won me over. I'll preorder it next time I'm at gamestop

That wasn't really a problem in FFXV as the AI nor surprisingly in KH3

Prompto ran into danger way too much to the point where he had to always be saved because I couldn't be assed to sometimes and let Ignis handle it Tho that's more so reason why I put Ignis group healing skill on command

FFXII had really good AI. Though considering how much effort went into the Gambits, it kinda had to or the game would've been as broken as FF2.

FFXV was underrated. It looks like they took the best parts of that gameplay and those graphics, used that as a foundation for FF7, tooled up FF7's story and then made everything 10x better and here we are. It's like the perfect scenario for the game.

My one and only fear is that they'll take cues from the Compilation and turn arrogant, snarky Cloud into the whingy twat he's been since advent Children.

My one and only fear is that they'll take cues from the Compilation and turn arrogant, snarky Cloud into the whingy twat he's been since advent Children. I mean, he kinda was that already in a good chunk of FF7 already. Though I hope that, yeah, he doesn't start out or stay in that phase for more than his story demands. Cloud had 3 phases of character development (I'll put this in spoiler chat just in case for anyone who still hasn't played it):
{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} 1. Cosplaying as a SOLDIER 1st Class combining elements of Zack's personality with a new, created persona with snark and arrogance. All of this done as a tribute to his friend as well as compensating for his own insecurities and failures along with the trauma he endured as one of Hojo's guinea pigs after the Nibelheim Incident. This is also why I don't think he was ever truly in love with Aerith and more in love with the idea of being with her because of her relationship with Zack.
{Spoiler}{Spoiler} 2. Self-pitying and morose who had the illusions from #1 shattered forcefully by Sephiroth/Jenova wearing a Sephiroth meatsuit and the events at Forgotten Capital and the Northern Crater.
{Spoiler}{Spoiler} 3. Cloud, with Tifa's help, reconciling who he really is with the events of the past. He's finally at peace with himself and gains the self-confidence to stop Sephiroth and Jenova's plans.
