I’m sure some of you remember in WCW around late 99 they were doing gimmicks with both La Parka and Kaz where they would talk and a dubbed voice would cut a promo in English. Does anyone know who was actually cutting the promos for them? I heard it was Mike Tenay and I’d like to have confirmation because that would be spectacular.

Funny, I was just thinking about the La Parka thing earlier today by pure coincidence. What was funny about his was that he played against the gimmick by panicking while the dub was played and trying to tell the crowd it wasn't what he was saying.

I didn’t either until I was just watching an episode of Thunder and Kaz is doing a backstage interview with Mean Gene. They did the same gimmick. I’m not sure if it was before or after they did it with La Parka. It was the same type of voice and promo though.

Yeah, I believe it was Ed Ferrera, since it was conceived during the original Russo/Ferrera run from October '99 to January '00, then was one of the few carryovers into the Sullivan-led booking committee. Ferrera remained with the booking committee and continued to do stuff like this until Russo came back in April.
