There's an '88 episode of Prime Time Wrestling featuring him and I'm gobsmacked because I had no idea this guy was even on the roster at some point.
Seems like his run only lasted a few weeks at most. Anyone know why it was so short-lived?

According to Bret's book, Jos spent a lot of time doing drugs with Dynamite and Dynamite got him in trouble

I have a tape of him wrestling that I don’t think I ever converted to digital but LeDuc was so winded about a minute into his match his opponent (Probably wrong but I think it was Dick Murdoch) was audibly trying to get him to finish the match

He was there from the end of April to July as far as I can tell. My family took me to my first live show on Apr. 26, 1988. I still have the poster from the event. I barely remember it since I was so young. I do know he defeated Jose Luis Rivera that night. I do remember a very overpowering “lardass” chant for him. Rivera worked twice that night. He was also the Conquistador losing to Outback Jack in the opener.

The first and only time I saw him at the time, in '88, was at Haku's coronation. Had no idea who he was. It was only a few years ago that I saw a couple of his matches on Prime Time - a clean loss to Tito and a DQ loss to a jobber (Brian Costello) because he wouldn't stop headbutting him.

As I recall from the Tito match they switch between both 'Jos' and 'Butcher' for his ringname which is a little confusing.

It's funny when a new guy comes in to WWF or WCW and the commentators have no idea how he is supposed to be named. The most notable to me are Yokozuna who commentators called different names and Ludvig Borga who would be called Ludwig.

This was pretty much the end of the road for LeDuc. After his barely-two-and-a-half months run here, he pretty much disappears from wrestling, beyond doing a handful of matches in Japan over a year later, and then a random USWA match in 1995. Adventures with Dynamite aside, he wouldn't have lasted long regardless. Dude was shot. Ludvig Borga who would be called Ludwig. That's technically correct in some circles.

IIRC, I think that Vince wanted him to feud with Hogan at some point. Obviously, that didn't happen.

It came across like nobody knew what they were doing during the graphic before the break it says Butcher then gorilla throws to the match calling him Butcher than before the match he’s called “The Headbanger”Jos LeDuc.The next week they do the same but get rid of the Jos Leduc part and he’s just called The Headbanger.

He got a cameo in No Holds Barred. Surely a career peak.

His cameo in No Holds Barred probably got him the job considering it was shooting around the same time

I seem to recall that in the late 90's Jos LeDuc's son worked a couple of house show matches for the WWF. Does anybody else remember this or know anything about this?

I seem to recall that in the late 90's Jos LeDuc's son worked a couple of house show matches for the WWF. Does anybody else remember this or know anything about this? I don't recall that. Jos had a (kayfabe) brother named Paul Leduc whose real son Carl Leduc broke into the business for a while. If I remember right, he was in Memphis for a split second and had a memorable bit where he freaked out during a promo because everyone was egging him on to slice his arm open with an axe the way Jos had.

They were probably scared he would cut himself again during a promo

Okay, looked it up, and the other LeDuc in the 90s was "nephew" Carl. Here's his WWF matches as well as one final unrelated WWF appearance by Jos.
WWF @ Montreal, Quebec - Forum - January 12, 1996 (10,016; 8,000 paid) The last show held at the Forum; former Montreal wrestling stars Jos & Paul LeDuc and Jacques Rougeau Sr. were in attendance for the event
WWF @ Des Moines, IA - April 30, 1996 (7,000; 5,373 paid) Tony Williams defeated Carl LeDuc
WWF @ Montreal, Quebec - Molson Centre - August 2, 1996 (9,128) Carl LeDuc defeated Justin Bradshaw
WWF @ Quebec City, Quebec - August 3, 1996 Owen Hart defeated Carl LeDuc via submission with the Sharpshooter; after the match, Raymond Rougeau made the save for LeDuc when Hart refused to release the hold
WWF @ Ottawa, Ontario - Corel Centre - August 4, 1996 (5,572) Carl LeDuc pinned Justin Bradshaw with a roll up
WWF @ Halifax, Nova Scotia - Metro 3000 - November 4, 1996 (4,691) The Sultan defeated Carl LeDuc
WWF @ St. Johns, Newfoundland - Memorial Coliseum - November 5, 1996 (3,793) The Sultan defeated Carl LeDuc
WWF @ Sydney, Nova Scotia - November 6, 1996 (3,727) The Sultan defeated Carl LeDuc
WWF @ St. John, New Brunswick - Harbour Stadium - November 7, 1996 (3,241) The Sultan defeated Carl LeDuc
WWF @ Hull, Quebec - Robert Guertin Arena - November 21, 1997 (1,732) Carl LeDuc pinned Aldo Montoya when the momentum of a flying bodypress put LeDuc on top
WWF @ Montreal, Quebec - Molson Centre - November 22, 1996 (6,018) The Sultan defeated Carl LeDuc with the Camel Clutch
