ESPN is very friendly with WWE, but they weren't able to clear 52 weeks a year to add them to their regular lineup. Impact could be a decent test run to see if wrestling adds subscribers to ESPN+ and whether their subscribers are open to current wrestling product as part of an ESPN offering, kind of like how TNN added ECW essentially as a test run before going after WWE in 2000.

Now's the right time to strike, especially in the wake of WWE's big Fox deal for Smackdown and AEW's big TNT deal. And literally anything would be an upgrade from Pursuit and the dozen of people who watch it.
