Just curious to see if anyone else is around. They always say that "we" are the most chased fanbase since so many of us left back then and never came back.
I may have watched a little bit of Raw around the time that Taker was doing the Big Evil thing, and I did tune into TNA for about a month when Hogan came in, but that was the last time I watched. Well, I did tune in to a stream at the Rumble that AJ debuted at, just to see if it was really gonna happen.
I just never could get into the post Attitude Era WWE, as I always thought WCW (up until 00-01) did a much better job of presenting stuff with a big fight feel and sports presentation.
Not sure if I'm just a complete nutcase or not, but I never stopped reading about it or listening to Podcasts and stuff about it. It's just nothing I ever heard (for the most part), whether it be from WWE, TNA, ROH, NJPW or whatever.. none of it spiked my interests. AEW has me willing to tune into their product, however I'm not going to be purchase DON (gotta get passports for my honeymoon).
Just wanted to see if anyone else was in the same position as me.

Does watching Mania once a year count?
If not, then yeah. 2003 up to Wrestlemania 20 was the last full year I watched wrestling of any sort.

I stopped watching religiously in the summer of 2006. I always get WM and occasional PPVS since I have the network, and I did watch a bit when the Rock and Sting had their respective runs, but I seriously doubt I will ever watch full time again.

Let's put it this way...if I stopped watching professional wrestling after the Monday Night Wars which was, mind you, over 18 years ago, I severely doubt I'd have gone out of my way to frequent a fan board related to it.

I stopped watching just as the Monday Night Wars intensified. I went to university and kept in touch via the magazines, but lost interest as I wasn’t really following the product. This board is a nice trip down memory lane for me, though of course the majority of the newer stuff passes me by.

You can still be a fan of past wrestling and be on a forum. I mean, Elvis Presley has been dead 42 years and has a forums dedicated to him. For me, listening to Jake Roberts on a podcast, for example, is something I will eat up. 1990 to 1998 was my prime fandom and anything related in and around that time is still very interesting to me. Can I bare to sit through a modern day pro-wrestling match in any organisation on a regular basis? Nah, not really.

I stopped watching after the Invasion angle and didn’t watch a single second of pro wrestling until WrestleMania 25. Hbk/Taker made me feel like a kid again, so I tried getting back into it again. Needless to say it took all of 6 months for me to stop watching again. Now its just Mania each year and even that is too much for me, but its an excuse to hang out with my friends that like the current product.
Now, I will admit when NJPW did its “Invasion Attack” tour in 2011 I checked out the Philly show and got hooked on NJPW and some ROH for awhile. I watched New Japan pretty religiously up until WK this year. I dont want to say the Elite leaving caused my lack of interest, I just think I was ready to take a break. AEW has me pumped again, so I’ll be back watching wrestling, but to bring it full circle, I just flat out dont watch WWE anymore.

I quit watching after Gotch screwed Hackenschmidt in the second bout.

I guess I can understand how it seems sort of odd, but I love wrestling. Dont see why my lack of interest in WWE and all that should stop me from keeping a relative ear to the ground on what's going on.

I didn't outright stop watching, but the end of the Monday Night Wars and the Invasion was a real watershed moment for me. Before I'd watched WCW every week (even when it was horrible), I watched Smackdown, I watched Heat, I watched Metal and Superstars, absolutely everything I could watch without a Sky Sports subscription. But at that point I drifted away from wrestling for several years, still half-following but not with nearly the enthusiasm I had before. Maybe part of it was that I was now a teenager and was interested in other things, but I still checked the results and the news and watched the odd show without really engaging.
I came back but have never fully engaged with WWE again. I followed through magazines and the internet, checked the news and results and watched independents and puroresu, but I haven't really been a regular watcher in seventeen or eighteen years. MLW is tempting me to watch regular weekly shows again, and TNA did for a brief period in about 2005/6 when it was free on their website, but that's as far as it's ever gone.

I got the impression the OP was referring to someone who hasn't watched ANY wrestling since the Monday Night Wars, seeing as they also said that none of the alternatives ("WWE, TNA, ROH, NJPW or whatever..") sparked their interest. I don't see the point in wasting limited time following a form of entertainment if you have no interest in actually watching the product.

I watched weekly until about 2010 when I graduated from college. Then real life came and my job forced me out of bed at 5:15am every morning which means 11pm was going to be a little past the time I wanted to stay up. I watched infrequently for a while but I haven't watched more than 20 minutes of a Raw or Smackdown in several years. I have the network so I keep up on ppv's and Takeovers but that's basically it.

To be fair, my "limited time" following this form of entertainment is me loggin on here while I'm taking a dump. I've always kept up with it, cause when done the way I like it, wrestling is captivating. I've always had a passion for it. Don't see what's so strange about that. WWE was always either too ridiculous for me to suspend any belief, or too polished like it is now. I'm sure if I really dug in to it, there are indies I would enjoy (MLW seems like it would be right up my alley), but I dont have the time to dedicate to them. NJPW also seems like something I could get in to I reckon but I cant get past the language barrier.
