I've seen confusion about this online and I'd like to give everyone a rundown of the rules. Unless its a falls count anywhere match the fall must happen inside the ring. The second someone touches the ropes the fall will not count this also counts if you use the ropes for leverage. No rope breaks means you can not get DQ'd for not relinquishing the hold if the opponent reaches the ropes however the ref does not recognize a pinfall or submission that happens while this happens.
Thank you

Maybe inform WWE of this since they're the ones who were insisting Miz was being screwed over.

a lot of the WWE Universe (and their announcers I guess) get confused on the precise verbiage of the gimmick matches.
Falls Count Anywhere - OP explains it No DQ - you will not be DQ'd for using weapons, outside interference, being counted out for 10 seconds, or not breaking submission holds if someone performs a rope break. but rope breaks on pinfalls STILL COUNT No Holds Barred - you can choke opponents. Not a NO DQ match, you will be disqualified for using weapons, run-ins, or by not releasing holds/chokes by a 5-count Backstage Brawl - it's a Falls Count Anywhere plus NO DQ match since you can use weapons, and rope breaks will not save you from pinfalls. Steel Cage Match - NO DQ plus No Countout Match with the added stipulation of escaping the cage being a 'win condition'. Rope breaks on submissions don't count, but they DO still count for pinfall attempts as it's not Falls Count Anywhere rules. No Countout - you can go outside the ropes as much as you want and not get counted out.

However, I think your definition is probably what it was originally meant to be and now they just use it interchangeably with no DQ.
