Around the time I started caring about the size of wrestlers, was about the same time I noticed that a lot of the bigger guys were exhausted after 5-10 minutes while the smaller guys still seemed fresh

I suspend disbelief to say size doesn’t matter in wrestling, but in any other combat sport between two highly trained professionals, size very much does matter. A small MMA fighter can probably whoop a big guy that isn’t trained, sure. But, a professional heavyweight fighter is going to have a major advantage over a professional middleweight fighter. They don’t have weight classes for the hell of it.

Size difference shouldn’t matter when putting matches together as much as it seems to. Shawn Michaels was nowhere near the size of Kevin Nash i& Sid but it wasn’t ever like he was a huge underdog.

Don’t really want to read the whole thread but Keith Lee, while tall, is fat. Dude is physically intimidating by virtue of his size but doesn’t look like someone who spends a lot of time in the gym. If someone watching the product is sizing up his jelly rolls and asserting “doesn’t look like an ass kicker!”, I can only assume they are a fool.

I remember having a hard time taking HBK seriously when he was main eventing. not too long after that the nWo took off in WCW and they were over huge with gigantic guys. And the WWF took a dive. I'm not sure if there was a link with it but they have had trouble with Bret in main events too financially. Yet I didn't have a problem with Flair being the guy in WCW during all these years. I guess it depends on the context. I didn't mind Bret being Champ as he was damn badass outthere.

Look at Daniel Cormier. A pudgy looking, not all that tall (by WWE standards) guy who looks like a friendly sitcom dad from a mid 90s WB show.
But, odds are he would probably wreck Brock Lesnar and anyone else in the WWE. And the one guy who can and has wrecked him is an awkward looking lanky guy who would technically be considered a cruiserweight in WWE.

You can still clearly see he is bulk and muscular.(And he probably has stronger muscles for having a body like that than a body builder). I really draw my limit at Chris Hero wrestling in a trunks as his guts fall over.Otherwise I wont care much

I just said in an AEW thread. If I can believe I can kick a guys ass what’s the point of watching.
I watched the AEW battle royal and some of guys really looked to “Indy” with their gear and physiques it kinda took me out of the show. It’s one thing if it’s a YouTube video in front of 300 people but under the lights and the production value. It was really noticeable to me, wrestlers have to feel larger than life even if I put weigh them by 100 pounds.
I really believe WWE does a great job making their wrestlers look like stars. Except for Kevin Owens. He looks like a guy that would try to start shit at the bar, not a pro wrestler. He sucks. I just can’t take him seriously.

I have no problem whatsoever believing smaller guys can overcome bigger guys. If I'm supposed to buy into a guy hopping up to the top rope in the middle of a fight why the would Bryan and Brock's size difference be something to throw me off. I find it really weird that people can't get past the size differences but are able to look past some of the moves that would legit paralyze people if actually done. It's just a strange line to me.

I really noticed it in this feud when the commentary kept saying how will the Hitman fare against a champion who is a foot taller and a hundred pounds heavier.
