I think AJ STYLES APPEARING IN THE WWE is way more shocking than Cena returning from injury earlier than everyone thought. AJ coming was huge at the time and something most of us thought we'd never see. I really don’t think that one was a surprise. I think it was common knowledge that he signed a contract and there was a lot of speculation that he was going to appear at the rumble. Still a great moment though

Punk would. Also, imagine if DB was cleared to return in early 2018 and was #30 in the Rumble. The reaction would have been amazing.

I dunno, man. That Cena surprise was nuts. Not one person was expecting it. For real, that pop was INSANE. Even though people started booing afterwards, that initial pop said it all. All time great Rumble moment that likely won’t ever be replicated.

I knew like everyone else he was coming to WWE, I just never believed in the slightest WWE would put him in the Rumble, I always assumed they'd have him start up after Mania

I still put Aj above Cena in terms of surprise.
I never thought AJ would show up in wwe. He's now a main event staple and is the cover superstar of their latest game, it is still surreal to me after watching him tear up RoH & TNA.
Not a storyline one per se, but Roman beat his cancer so quickly it's refueled conspiracy (cancpiracy?) Theories It was fake.

I’d say no, while AJs debut at the Rumble was a huge moment, it wasn’t that big of a surprise IMO. It was just a matter of time before he showed up, I didn’t think it would be at that event, still I thought it was great.
Cena’s return came out of nowhere as he was slated to return in the spring of 08, maybe even missing Mania.

It's already been surpassed when Big Daddy Cool returned There was a lady in the front row with a BIG DADDY COOL sign already made up during his entrance. ......Nash and Booker being in Boston was reported earlier in the day, so it was known.

AJ and Ronda's debut did and Brock's 2012 return did. The pop for the surprise of Cena quickly turned into boos again whereas people were genuinely happy to see AJ, Ronda and Brock.

Austin would get a huge pop. For real. I know we all hate part-timers and old folks taking the young guy’s spots, but every single person in the arena would forget that if they heard the glass shatter during a Rumble.
