Owen was murdered. How many times, on Live PPV was a wrestler's entrance NOT shown as it happened. On Raw, on Smackdown, yeah. But PPV ALWAYS shows the entrance. The 1 and only time it doesn't, hmm.....

I remember reading/posting on rec.sport.pro-wrestling that night and seeing the feed fill up with "RIP Owen" posts as I scrolled along to get to the latest threads. There is something very eerie about the way the posts grew in frequency among the list until whole screens were filled with them. One, you dismiss as trolling; a few, you think there's a gang of trolls; but then they're all the same thing from dozens of posters and you can't ignore them or go after all the "trolls".
I was shaking as I went to bed that night.

The RAW is Owen show itself was very surreal. Wrestling without storylines and a very quick main event followed by a toast by Steve Austin of all people.

The 1 and only time it doesn't, hmm..... He didn't fall making his entrance, he fell while in position above the ring waiting for his cue. It feels wrong saying it but thankfully he did fall earlier rather than during the actual entrance, otherwise millions of people around the world would have seen it live and it would be all over youtube lists today etc

What Tom Buchanan wrote in his recent post and his post a year earlier just makes me sick. It all could have been avoided. Just another instance of WWF trying to get involved in something beyond their understanding. A stunt is something movie related, no matter how hard WWE tries, they will never be in the movie and entertainment business. They are a wrestling company, no more. They have no business pulling off such a stunt. At least with Turner and WCW, Turner was heavily involved enough on the entertainment side that he and WCW management knew the proper way of doing a stunt like that.
I personally wish, as big a Bret Hart fan that I am, he would have put Owen's memory over his legacy. If I were him I would never, ever do business with Vince McMahon again.
