I was going to write "the only mainstream show" but a) it wouldn't fit in the title and b) is WWE mainstream? I dunno.
Anyway, if you think about it, if you're in a new rock or metal band WWE is the only TV show willing to play your songs on their show. NXT's theme song (now Slipknot, not a new band obv, but it's a new song), the themes for PPV's are constantly provided by rock and metal bands who get some pretty damn good exposure out of it.
Is there any other sport or TV show doing this?

Wwe always seemed to get a lot of early 2000s bands like papa roach. Every time I was like they are still a band?

UFC does occasionally. And to be fair to WWE it’s not all they play. They had Billie Eilish as a theme recently so they seem to be on the ball with newer stuff that isn’t metal. And there’s always a guaranteed abysmal pop theme for Wrestlemania.

They are probably single handedly keeping Papa Roach’s career afloat at least.

All PPV themes will now consist of a woman saying a single word from the PPV title. Please see the Stomping Grounds theme below:
Stomping.
Stomping Stomping Stomping Stompinggg.
StompingStompingStompingStomping.
etc.

With the exception of Slipknot, NXT uses some decent songs with some stinkers along the way, Billie Eilish for example (and even then it was different so I can dig that).

Wwe made me realize i became that old guy, at least when it comes to metal/rock because they still play the same bands i do. I keep up (somewhat) w rap&hip hop but only ever listen to my lamb of god, rise against, mushroomhead, spineshank, etc early 2000s H.S angst.

Can't wait for Triple H to fully take over and everyone on the roster has a rock/metal theme and coming down to the ring in different vehicles

This is offensive erasure of the vault of pop country anthems used for about 90% of their main roster show themes

WWE is outdated as hell so yeah. What's outdated about Rock and Metal? Unless you mean the tripe that WWE puts out, in which case, absolutely

Unless you mean the tripe that WWE puts out, in which case, absolutely Rock/metal isn't isn't the leading genre in the US anymore so whenever WWE put these tracks as their theme song it makes them look more outdated. The Bllie Eilish track they used is a good representation of how a lot of music sounds today that isn't hip-hop (which is the dominant genre in the US). It goes against WWE being on top of current trends and it's more of an indication that yeah Vince is out of date. That worked in the early 00s but these days? Nah. That's not what most people listen to today even if people like it.

Metal and Rock works as good anthemic "pump up" music for wrestling shows. While there probably is some hip-hop that also might work, most (not all) modern rap (at least the mainstream stuff), isnt as "hard" (though I did go to an indie show the other night where a babyface team came down to "Hey Ya", so it doesnt HAVE to be hardcore rap), and and using something like Ariana Grande would be just like that edit of Taker coming down to Katy Perry.

I've heard imagine dragons and such used on other shows on television so they arent the only ones.
As for something in your original post The problem with asking if the wwe is mainstream is asking what even is mainstream any more.
With so many forms of entertainment being available on demand it's hard to actually declare any one thing as the mainstream

I can't wait for Bray Wyatt to walk to the ring to "break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored".

Chances are if they chose rap, it would be the equivalent of the awful shit they chose for rock and "metal" back in the day. I would actually trust NXT to choose a decent rap song over whatever the main roster would have.
