That’s been my thought process since Brady bailed. He’s going to go the Spurs route when Robinson got injured and they got Duncan. A one year mega tank for the greater good. Bill doesn't do shit without a plan I don't know if he is outright tanking but after watching The Last Dance and seeing how Krause wanted to tear down the Bulls to rebuild and was told no. Kraft doesn't really have to tell Bill no because it fell in his lap with Gronk retiring and Brady wanting to leave The most funny shit will be if Bill says f*** it i'm out and Josh McDaniels finally gets his chance to take over the Pats with no offense Yeah I don't see Bill tanking. I think they'll take a step or two back while he tries to rebuild but he's not stripping the roster bare and going to the bottom of the league. I think he likes Stidham but I wouldn't be surprised if takes someone in the 3rd round to push him. They may even try to trade into the 2nd to get sombody. I don't see them taking a QB in the first.

I’ve seen trade up with the Niners to take the falling Tua thrown out there by some people. Which would suck, because I want Tua for my team.

Gronkowski was slow and broken down two years ago. It’s a big name to get but I’d put his over under in games around 10 with middle of the road output. We’ll see if he can still block I think they'll put him on a pitch count so to speak. Limit his playing time during the regular season to preserve his body for the playoffs.

Yo, Belichick is going to try and win with Bryan Hoyer to end the debate about who's more important to the Pats.
Ok, probably not, but I'd like to see it.

They think Nick Bosa is why their line is good... Also they'd probably tell you they played most of the year with Kwon hurt and Dee Ford missed a bunch of time also so why do they need to pay them they won without them? They’re in for a very unpleasant surprise when Bosa is less effective because all the focus can shift to him, and Armstead returns to being a perfectly average space-filler. There was a large gap in the middle of the season where the line became ineffective. Shockingly it didn’t get better until the playoffs started when (checks notes) Dee Ford and Kwon Alexander returned from their injuries. I've said it before: it was a big mistake to re-sign Armstead instead of DeForest Buckner.

Belichick: "I'll trade you WWE Superstar Rob Gronkowski for a 4th Round Draft Pick."
Buccaneers: "Deal."
Belichick: "........I didn't think that would work."

Now teams don’t have to focus on Buckner (abd possible Ford and Kwon) he’s going to be the exactly average space-eater he was before last year’s breakout. He was the byproduct of the greatness around him.

I wouldn’t sleep on Bill getting someone like Jalen Hurts in the 3rd round or so He’s a guy who works hard which is up Bill alley and he can coach him up while they get a vet to handle the duties for 2 years or so Jalen could well go in round 2. But I agree, they don't really need to move up. Bill is much more likely to take a defender or a lineman in the first and then end up with someone like Eason or Hurts later.

Who knows what this season brings for the Patriots. I do however want to point out that they're currently slated to have 100+ million in cap space next offseason. So, this notion that the franchise is completely dead and buried is probably going to look silly. Methinks Belichick has had his eyes on this for a bit

However, that's what's fascinating about this year. You have Stidham, who many people think is pretty good and some young WR that are expected to take a step. If that happens, you have a bunch of cash to go load up next Spring. If not, you have an assload of money to go get someone like Watson (or depending on how they do, draft a high end QB. There's a bunch of different ways this can go. All I'm saying is that Belichick is known as one of the most cerebral minds in the history of the game. I have some faith that he knows what he's doing

I think there is incentive there to prove it's Belichick and not Brady cause well, that's Bill. However getting a QB that is capable of competing with what sits at the top of the AFC is going to be a serious challenge, and the only way you'd ever get Watson would be to literally trade 20 picks, teams don't walk on QB's unless they suck.

Love seems to be destined for the 25-45 range. The go-to Belichick move would be to drop down from 23 to early 2nd, add a 3rd and take his guy in R2.

Lets get super honest now, how many QB's taken in the second round have been good? That position is so overvalued the odds of getting a franchise dude outside of the 1st is so slim.

You know it's old because Brady didn't attacked Gronk for the 24/7 title.
