Niners beat reporter says Nick Bosa looks better at this point as a rookie than Aldon Smith did. That’s pre-human-trainwreck Aldon Smith, who was one of the most electric pass rushers in the league and nearly broke the sack record in his second season Aldon Smith.
So sad... dude was a Hall of Famer if he didn’t have his demons.

So how long before we start making season predictions? Jets go 1-15. 0-16 if the Raiders are competent enough. That's not me continuing my LOLJets kick. I seriously cannot see them winning any of their games this season.

I'm actually expecting the Jets to go at least 6-10. I don't think they'll be a Wild Card team, but I think they'll be respectable.
The Giants on the other hand... 💩 🚽

Barkley is going to be Stephen Jackson isn't he? That sucks.

Dude needs to preemptively hold out before they run his legs off on his rookie deal.

Dallas will win the division at 10-6, but somehow screw it up again in the playoffs.

Apparently Antonio Brown has frost-bitten feet from being in a cryotherapy chamber without proper footwear.
Yikes.

I'll do my picks, I'm not going to go through game by game so my records might be slightly off but you'll get the idea.
AFC East Patriots 11-5 Can you really pick anyone else here? The division is pretty bad so they don't have any real competition but the wheels will fall off of Brady eventually. I think his overall age and some of the other issues the team has will prevent them from throwing out a dominant record, similar to say last years team.
Buffalo 9-7 I like this team and think they could find a way to sneak into the playoffs. They have one of the best defenses in the league and have shown they can run the ball. A lot of this hinges on Josh Allen, while not a huge fan I think he shows some improvement this year, enough that their D can carry him to above 500.
NY Jets 7-9 I think the FA additions, even though overpriced do make their team better. I see Sam Darnold taking another step forward as being a good starting QB so I have them sitting here as none of their units compare to the Bills defense.
Miami Dolphins 2-14 I think this is where the worst record in the NFL sits this year. I understand that it is a total gut job, tear it down and bring it back up but we'll see how that goes. I don't trust Patriot assistants doing anything like this with their track records. I also wouldn't be surprised if they somehow stole a win against the Pats.
AFC North
Cleveland Browns 10-6 The Browns are the only team in this division on the upswing, Everyone else is showing decline and age and I think all of the talent assembled with Mayfields development does win the division.
Pittsburgh Steelers 8-8 I think the Steelers battle hard for a playoff spot to try to save Tomlins job to get that last wildcard. I like JuJu but as a 1 his job is going to be much harder without AB out there helping him out. Ben's aging and we all know how that goes and that defense well...they need more than Devin Bush to save it.
Baltimore Ravens 6-10 While this team is usually a mainstay contender, I think they fall off now. They lost a bunch of players on defense, even with adding Earl Thomas I don't think that offsets the loses. Also the biggest issue is Lamar Jackson. A QB that lacks throwing ability and runs the way he does is going to have trouble succeeding and not getting injured, just don't see it with them right now.
Cincy Bengals 3-13 Another team in contention for worst team in the league. They need basically everything and they are just really in shambles, Andy Dalton isn't good, the defense is pretty blah and AJ Green can't stay healthy. Joe Mixon and Tyler Boyd are about the only bright spots.
AFC South Houston Texans 11-5 I think there is to much talent here to not win a division, not a fan of O'Brien but I think they have enough to get it done.
Indy Colts 8-8 I think the Colts take a step back this year, they were a year early last year and I expect to see some regression after not doing a ton to add to the core they have. Also Luck is already injured and this seems to be an on going problem with him.
Jacksonville Jaguars 7-9 While I think Foles gives them more stability at QB, I don't think he is a world beater or able to do enough for the offense. The defense still plays well but continues to have in fighting issues.
Tennessee Titans 4-12 I think this team is a team that could easily be horrible. Lack of QB, questionable head coach. I think they won some close games last year to pad that record but I don't see that again.
AFC West
Kansas City Chiefs 14-2 Mahomes builds off of his MVP year with the best offensive mind in the game given this team has more offensive speed than any other team out there and that's a tough matchup. The defense should be vastly improved with the additions of a new coaching staff and many players including Frank Clark and Tyrann Matheiu.
Chargers 8-8 I think this is the team most likely to take a step back this year, aging QB, went 6-1 in close games last year, injury issues every single year.
Oakland Raiders 5-11 While I don't see this as a good team, I think they improve slightly in Grudens second year.
Denver Broncos 4-12 The main reason I picked the Raiders 3rd is this team. The defense is still good but aging, Joe Flacco is no longer a good QB and he is behind a god awful line with his best WR coming off a torn achilles and having a first time head coach that is over 65...seems like a recipe for disaster.
AFC playoff picture 1.Chiefs 2.Patriots 3.Houston 4.Cleveland 5.Buffalo 6. Steelers
Wildcard round Cleveland over Buffalo Houston over Pitt
Division Round Kansas City over Cleveland New England over Houston
Championship Kansas City over New England
I'll do the NFC a bit later.

Nick Bosa is supremely talented, but he’s going to get that “injury prone” tag pretty soon. Missed most of his last college season, missed early OTA’s with a hammy, and now has a sprained ankle.
Stay. Healthy.

Val's Prediction: My Vikings win every game by 50 points! (Ok I think they'll be 9-7 and probably watch the Bears and Packers both play in the playoffs)
Val's Gut Feelings on random NFL happenings: I think we'll see 3 QB "Legends" effectively end their careers this year. Either by Injury, voluntary retirement... or they'll obviously degrade to the point they are done although they might try to hang on somewhere 1-2 more years. But still effectively done. The pool of QB's I personally think are in the running for this: Eli, Brees, Cam, Brady, Rodgers, Big Ben.
I think the new rule on challenging Pass Interference will end up with a call that is somehow even more controversial than the one that caused all this bullshit in the Rams/Saints game.
I really feel bad for saying it... but if Wentz goes down this year I think he's effectively done as a starter.
I don't think we'll see a resurgence of the traditional running game. There might be like 2 teams that do it and win, but they will be winning on the back of their defense not on the legs of their running game.
I know I'm going way out on a limb here: The London Games will absolutely suck
And the Pats win the Superbowl because we are made to suffer our lot in life
