We move on to 2003, which will have Four lists once again (but they're going to start going up soon). This is the First of those lists. Vote for your favorite movie from this part of this year, and, as always, explain your choice (if you like), as well as mention any other movies you might have seen on this list, below.

We will also accept Write in Votes (although, please mention it as such) for movies not included on the list I'm getting the choices off of. However, I will not remove any from the list (I can't by that point), so, if you want to make your case why a certain movie isn't a horror film, make it. Hell, you might end up swaying a few voters from going in that direction, but I can't/won't remove it from the list or DQ it.

[Big DSR Energy]

SHREDDER is another lousy slasher flick, with a group of snowboarders getting picked off by the mysterious killer. All of the characters are annoying. Stars Scott Weinger, who played DJ's boyfriend Steve on Full House and voiced Aladdin in Disney's classic animated film.

THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE was an okay remake. It's what actually got my vote.

I voted Godzilla:Tokyo SOS, the TCM remake can't hold a candle to the original or even the sequel to the original in my opinion

TCM remake-Love this movie. Sure they changed a bunch of stuff. But then the continuity in the TCM franchise not that great.

A little over two hours left, and the Texas Chainsaw remake is leading, but Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S is not that far behind.

Well, it looks like we have yet another tie, as both The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S will be going on to the next round. I never saw the second, but as I said before, I do love me some (Real) Godzilla movies. I did vote for the first, as, well, it's the best movie out of a sea of OK ones. Is the TCM remake the best in the series? No, I would put the original and Tobe Hooper's sequel over it, but it's still way better than all of the other films in the franchise. It looks great, and definitely delivers what it promises, as far as amping the original concept up for a newer audience. Quite solid.


Open Water was kind of a "Found Footage" take on the fear of being stranded in the ocean, as two divers end up being left by the cruise ship they were on, and must try to survive and tread water as long as they can, in the hopes of being rescued. Of course, being that this was included in a horror poll kind of lets you know how that goes, but it's still a decent movie.


Screaming Dead was one of Misty Mundae's movies from Seduction Cinema, which means quite a bit of nudity and sex with a horror plot. This was OK for what it was.
