So, Excalibur pulled off a legendary carry job on Tony Khan's young boy (Alex Marvez) and the slowly investing himself Jim Ross. He is the best commentator in America, right?
Starting the campaign now.

Didn't get to see the show, but I've always thought Excaliber was a great announcer. His ability to do most any style well is incredible.

I think he and JR got on surprisingly well.
Marvez wasn't completely left in the dust, but I hope that guy is willing to put in the effort and time to get good, because yeah, definitely the third wheel.

He's awesome. And Ross did well especially toward the second half of the show (better than his NJPW stuff). I know Marvez is Khan's boy, but he really needs to be moved into a different role in the company than "learning on the job guy who hasn't done wrestling commentary before."

It’s funny, everyone was hating on him during the preshow

It’s funny, everyone was hating on him during the preshow To be fair, in an environment like this, it's perfectly reasonable for him to take a bit of time to warm up for the occasion.

I'm a bit bias, but yes. He is amazing in PWG and has been for over a decade.

I've said multiple times early on small three guys were rough and din5 really have defined roles but they all settled in.

It's the first time I've heard him in commentary and i thought he was very good.

It warms my heart to hear so many praise Excalibur after DON. Dude's been killing it as a commentator for over a decade.

He was pretty good, but I still think the best current commentator is Jim Cornette. Would love to hear a team of Excalibur and Cornette or Excalibur and Schiavone.

Jim Ross and Excalibur as the commentary team of a major professional wrestling promotion is the stuff of my TEW games. I loved it. Marvez definitely felt like the third wheel unfortunately. I dislike three man booths in general, so I would not be sad if the plan going forward is Ross/Excalibur as a duo.

It was some truly excellent commentary in both principle and practice.

Yeah, if he is definitely their lead guy going forward, he's going to be in the mix of the best in the game soon enough. I thought he was great last night.

I honestly just honed in to JR, and the other two kind of became white noise. JR's voice simply is professional wrestling and, when he's on his game like he was last night, he's very easy to listen to.

I don't think Mahrez was all that bad. I think the source of people's qualms is that he's more of a sports commentator than a wrestling personality, so he comes off simply more boring than JR and Excalibur. I think that this sort of role will work for AEW, but I think they need more time to get comfortable and form a chemistry.

First time I've ever heard the 2 other guys and I honestly couldn't tell them apart most of the time.

Honestly I know some people will disagree but JR is the same reason I love Matt Striker on commentary. Both dudes show personality ,interest and have an identifying ,catching voice.
