Double or Nothing just happened. Because the show was so good, everyone is buzzing about who, what, where, when with this company. Give it a little bit. If we've got enough AEW discussion for a sustained period, I'd say it's time. I do see it as an inevitability, though.

If they keep up the interest, sure. We're only 24 hours removed from the big show so I can see why discussion is hot at the moment but we still need to give it some time.

I don't think there's a need for one yet but I can see it being warranted if this level of excitement is still there when they make TV.

When their weekly TV starts, sure.
Till then, it's fine here.

Most of Wrest is AEW threads at this point. Not even one page's worth yet. No, AEW will not be getting its own forum for a long time. It won't even be considered until the TV show is up and running. Judging things by one PPV's worth of threads isn't going to win it; in two weeks, it won't be as noticeable.

Somewhat related question for the moderators: how long did it take for ImpacTNA to get a separate forum from when it started with it's original PPV weekly format?

I totally get why the mods are setting a high bar here, but I'm hopeful there will be enough activity once AEW weekly TV is a thing. Barring some sort of promotional disaster, it feels like this will be a much bigger deal than TNA.
It'll be good for morale when/if it happens. The wrestling section of the FAN forums is now "WWE" and "everything else". I know it's for practical reasons, but it's such a disheartening reminder of the McMahonopoly on modern day wrestling.

Maybe once the weekly tv gets going, but at the same time the WWE has me so jaded that I can’t even get really hyped for this. Glad people are excited about it, but it’s early days for sure.

I will say that I am very glad people have made different threads for different topics, something that is going to be vital if, down the line, there will be an AEW section. Obviously not a call to spam topics, but megathreads stifle things.

most w(R)est is about AEW right now because its new and shiny and about 50 threads were created because they just had their first show. a lot of the threads either have cross over (e.g. " Cody's best match?" & " Cody/Dustin appreciation" and " Bret Hart" & " Bret Hart corpsing") or are about very niche topics (e.g. " Pre-TV schedule", " TV ratings" and " Venues") its too soon to tell if it will be a lasting major success and warrants its own section. after all, there have been several "game changing" promotions dubbed the next big thing over the years that have come and gone: Global Force Wrestling, Lucha Underground, Wrestling Society X, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, Dragon Gate USA, Wrestling Retribution Project, Extreme Rising, and of course oooooohhh Wrestlicious (Wrestlicious, baby! Yeah!)

I hope we can warrant dedicating one to AEW. So make enough traffic to force Joe Neglia 's hand >:8(

I think they’d need to make a serious impression with their television show first. Only time will tell if they can or not.

100% would love a subsection dedicated to AEW. Not saying at this very moment, but right before TV starts up would be a good time. No reason not to have one

OK, so NWA-TNA started in 2002, got FOX Sports Network in 2004, got SpikeTV in 2005... that should give people a good benchmark.
