Having options and alternatives is never a bad thing, and that's what AEW is, another option or alternative.
I don't think AEW is going to set the world on fire in the sense of being a catalyst for another "boom" period, but they're clearly the first company since to fall of WCW to really open up the doors to a resurgence of interest in professional wrestling.
I want AEW to succeed in the same way that I want to Ring of Honor, Impact and Chikara to succeed, I like there being different flavors to choose from. Even though, I haven't watched Chikara in a number of years, I enjoy knowing they're out there with a catalog of stuff that I can either re-visit and a product I can re-acquaint myself with.
So, yeah... All Elite Wrestling is good, as it's another choice... Another option.

It all depends. If it's another horrifically mismanaged cesspit like TNA was, just how can it be a good thing? But right now, it's impossible to tell. We just have to wait and see. Hell, even for as bad as TNA was, they were still ultimately probably more beneficial than bad for most of their existence, mostly before the biggest excesses of the Dixie era where we started getting full-on taken advantage of.

This has got to be the most one sided poll I've ever seen on this forum.

Well Khan doesnt seem to be as dumb as Dixie Carter and also AEW doesnt have Russo to make a mockery out of Pro Wrestling.

For now, good. Makes it tougher for WWE to jerk its talent around and could force them to make an effort to put on a decent product instead of empire-building.
Bad if it becomes another TNA and somehow makes WWE look good in comparison. Early showings look promising but TNA also looked really strong around 2005ish and all fell apart. So dont want to count chickens.

it's good for wrestling, gives people somewhere an alternative to work, a new product for the fans and who knows (maybe wishful thinking) might force Vince to finally pull his finger out and give us a product more in tune with what the fans want

All depends
WCW was good for a moment but the aftermath is what alot including myself look back on and go maybe it wasn't worth it because for a long time we were left with pretty much nothing but WWE as a result and it has taken almost two decades to finally get back to a potential competitive televised wrestling scene.
Who knows what it will look this time when this is all said and done because like any competition one has to inevitably lose.Or maybe us as fans can have 2 awesome brands

The only way it could be bad is if it flops horrendously, thus increasing the WWE's stranglehold on North America, and the complacent way they approach that. Any level of competition and alternative to the WWE is good. For fans and wrestlers, who will gain power simply by having the option of going somewhere else. Yeah, that’s the only way this could be a bad thing. If they manage to collapse to a point where their mistakes are so massive it keeps networks and advertisers from wanting to deal with any none WWE wrestling again. Kinda like what happened to TNA, when their continued existence was hindering wrestling growth as a whole. Even in this case, TNA's demise didn't really hurt wrestling. It was really ugly, but if anything it lead to other companies rising up and growing from the ashes. Corgan's acquisition of the NWA has turned out much better than I ever expected. MLW and New Japan both got national tv deals after TNA became a complete laughing stock. The indies in the US are doing better than ever. The other good thing about AEW is they are keeping an open door policy for talent, allowing them to work wherever. Hopefully this would help the indies and allow them to continue to grow. Also this won't create a situation like the 80s where Vince and Crockett absorbed all of the other companies, but instead an NWA like situation where the bigger company would help and feed the smaller ones. The only potential issue is if the bigger company fails or stops sharing, it hurts the other companies. Even then, there is still New Japan and we will see where the other wrestling companies are at.

This poll is the equivalent of the Simpsons episode where everyone in the Nuclear power plant union voted to go on strike except for the one guy in the back who said "Nay."

I am genuinely fascinated who voted 'no' and why. I can only assume it was trolling to create replies like this, though.

We have a new challenger! At least the other "no" vote isn't quite so lonely now.

I got my gf to watch AEW. Although she liked what she saw. She can't shake the image of the bloody Dustin - Cody match. She flat out said if they do more matches like that. She probably wont watch. I'm hoping for good things. But she can't be the only person who feels that way.

I don't think it will be a deal breaker for me after all but I am not a fan of it.
