Yeah I dig it. Nice and simple, yet brutal.

It's cool and quick. I love the symbolism of it too. Jericho turned his back on Vince and WWE so he's Judas. Hell, one of the announcers straight up called him Judas at the ppv a few days ago.

Yea, as much as Jericho can work himself into stupidity sometimes, the genius on this man is remarkable He's coming out to Judas which was just only a song to be diff from his WWE song. He starts wearing the clown make up in NJPW to be different. He's now combined it all together into "Evil Jericho: with the jacket, hat, and pants and just being an overbearing asshole

It’s smart for multiple reasons. His finishers have never been well protected, so hyping up a new one and protecting the hell out of it is a good idea. Also a good idea for a dude nearing 50 to start limiting his repertoire to moves that aren’t difficult to perform. And honestly, most people should have multiple finishes, and one should be simple to hit on everyone from Marko Stunt to Akebono.
I honestly hope he gets to protect the hell out of this finish, so that it really means something on a kick out.

Nope. It is a little more than a back elbow. It is used as a counter to a running opponent from out of the corner all the time. I know in real life you can KO someone with a back elbow to the face. Pro wrestling though? It is as menacing as a hip toss. Big Show was grilled all the time for using a punch as a finisher, and he's a freaking giant.

What's cool is that they wrote and released the Fozzy song named Judas before any of this happened. I wonder if the popularity of the song is what led to the character?

Think of it as the difference between a regular clothesline and Bradshaw's. The spin puts momentum behind it, which, given the elbow's such a hard target, most of that's transferred to the other guy. Granted, it's got major drawbacks, which is why you don't see guys doing it in MMA. You have no reach doing it, so you have to be right up on them, and the spin leaves you vulnerable, but it's got that plausibility behind it. I get if you still don't like it, but I figured I'd post the reasoning for the move.

Jericho in his insane genius just connected all the dots. He was doing a different character in NJPW being more Evil and it just fits perfectly that he's the Judas who turned his back on WWE while also trying to portray himself as a savior

My only problem is that Andrade Cien Almas has a similar move, does it way better, but it isn’t his finisher.

It’s a shitty version of a move Andrade’s been doing for months now.

Always gonna be the way though as you can't control how another company presents these moves. In '99 when WCW were getting Golberg’s jackhammer over as a devestating finisher, Billy Gunn was using it as mid-match offence.

Plus not everyone is going to perform the move the same We can say Jericho has put his time into perfecting that as finisher while Andrade uses it as a transition move

I really think it's super underwhelming, but then I don't think Jericho's ever had a good finisher.

I feel like it would have had more impact if they hadn't just dropped it on us the week before the show.
If Jericho had shown up at some indies in the weeks leading up to DoN and using the elbow to knock out some locals, I think I might have bought the move as a finish.

I really think it's super underwhelming, but then I don't think Jericho's ever had a good finisher. The Lion tamer is one of the best looking submissions. But it had safety issues I guess. And the Codebreaker is basically as good as an RKO(But Randy does it way more beautifully of course)

*shrug* It's an elbow. When it gets over it'll be over with me probably.
