Parent here.
I want to be able to watch AEW with my kids. I draw the line at penis druids and don't wanna deal with the kayfabe of the power of the dude's dick.
This is not me "wanting the world to be my babysitter". I sure as shit accept that I control their media intake. The thing is this is something I want them to be able to have access to. This is me wanting to share something with them I might enjoy that they might too. For me AEW is hope I can get my kids back into the scene. I want to share a good weekly big ass wrestling show with them and WWE sure as shit ain't it.

I am cool with the dick stuff for viral clips and all, but even still, can't say I'd miss the dick druid level of stuff. Now, not saying Joey couldn't work fine for AEW, but if he did, it'd have to be at maximum the kind of stuff he did in Lucha Underground, I think. Being a little sleazy but still having at least a semblance of subtlety's more than enough.

Every time a wrestling conversation takes a “appropriate for kids route” I always find it a little funny when people say this or that about a show where one participant has to essentially aim to beat their opponent into unconsciousness for at least 3 seconds or cause them so much pain that they give up
Not attacking anyone as I have kids myself and yeah you do have to draw the line somewhere I guess but still just amuses me slightly ha

Yeah so his big announcement is that he isn’t joining WWE or AEW, and is instead just going to keep doing Indies.

Man. I completely forgot he was in TNA. That dude stunk up the joint every night! Remember his tag run with Morgan?! Thinking back...I actually thought this was pretty good. Wished it would have lasted longer. Back at that time Ryan participated in a segment on Impact where guys had to impress TNA management and get a contract. Ryan was not picked and did a You Tube video that went viral about not being able to get hired. Then he was in the Impact crowds. Then disgruntled Matt Morgan comes out and start taking guys out. I don't remember how their partnernship started but Morgan was using Ryan to prove a point. Then I think there was a stipulation in a match where if someone would win, Joey would get a contract. They started partnering up and they could have gone full tag team competition. It worked because they made up for each others' weaknesses as Ryan is a solid worker but he is small and not the most high flyer-type while MM is not a good worker but he had size. But they abandoned it after a few weeks. Then Ryan went on his own and he was less than stellar where his character was basically a guy with a mustache that looked sleazy and did not stay in TNA long.

Man. I completely forgot he was in TNA. That dude stunk up the joint every night! Remember his tag run with Morgan?! His TNA run was good. People got invested in the Al Snow feud and he made the absolute most out of Gut Check. He showed the sleazy character could work without any dick stuff and just being genuinely creepy. Once Prichard was let go, they didn't know what to do with him and he fizzled out, same with pretty much the whole roster at that juncture. The Morgan team had no real solid reason for being together and no following action to any of the stories they started. I wouldn't put the shortcomings in that on Joey.
