I just saw a Facebook post about Terry Funk and why he thinks AEW will succeed. It seems like right now the whole wrestling community is positive about AEW aside from some fans and some WWE people who won’t comment one way or another.
But I don’t keep as close an eye on wrestling gossip as I used to. I was wondering if there were any wrestlers who have been outspoken in a negative way about AEW and who don’t believe it will succeed. I’m not saying I agree with such wrestlers, but was curious if they are out there?

Haven’t heard any. They want it to succeed because their friends are there. Wrestling is a small community. They want everything to be good.

I’d honestly hate if this flopped.
They have the resources, the big TV deals in ITV and TNT, the rich owner, the money and the marketing. Couple all that with the talent they have and there’s no excuse for this to not be highly successful.

Just thought to put this here before I made my point.
I mean, the only people who might want AEW to fail would be those who dislike the people in charge but even then, it hurts themselves more than anything. Less promotions means less of an inroad or target for the business and less potential fans interested in wrestling which means less people wanting to train as wrestlers etc.

I heard a rumor that Triple H is looking forward to the day Vince buys that little piss ant company just so he can watch Vince fire Billy Gunn again. But you know how these rumors can be.🤷♂️

If he lied about being an Anderson that is one thing, but leave Stan alone. Secondly and this really is my only point. I always have to question the credibility of a man who chose such an ill fitting finisher given his character.

I'm sure there are plenty of people in the industry who are skeptical of AEW's future success and are waiting to see how things pan out in a few years. Understandable as it's a new promotion. I mean it's why NJPW has so far been hesitant to make any definitive statements about possibly working with AEW.
I doubt many people want AEW to fail though. The more competition the better.

Hunter. It really solely falls to just him. And the guys not evil, he doesn’t want to see it fail...but he probably doesn’t want it to be too good. He is on the cusp of grasping control (...maybe) but barring Vince snapping, he’s absolutely powerless in the upcoming months and very likely years.
