A few weeks ago, I sort of got into an argument about Eddie Guerrero's death with my cousin. It was in the wake of Silver King's death, and my cousin believed that Eddie died in the ring. He even showed some people the video of the tag match that happened after Judgment Day 2004. We all know that he died in late 2005 and it was in his hotel room. But I also found that people believed that he died of a heart attack in the ring. I am certain that the collapse was a work, especially if they implemented his real life blade botch from Judgment Day into the storyline. Remember how he lost a lot of of blood in that match? They tried to work that into the angle I believe. The camera crew wouldn't have been so close if that collapse was a shoot, or would they?
What do you think?

Yeah, it was meant to play up the brutality of his blade job.

Eddie was dying to get Jibble over as a main eventer.

Definitely a work, the story was that Eddie might not be in the 6-man tag but if he can make it, he’s in. JBL took advantage and got the pin leading to the GAB rematch where he would win the title.

Never really heard that one before. The common one was that Ken Kennedy hitting him with the steel chair in his final match killed him. Hell, I argued with some girl about THAT in 2014, which was bizarre to me that that assumption had survived that long in some circles.

That theory was one Kennedy himself very much believed, and while the idea didn't live long before being debunked it did haunt him for quite a while IIRC.

Eddie was dying to get Jibble over as a main eventer. To their credit, it worked. He got tremendous amounts of heat.

I kind of wonder if the unprotected chair shot (in general no just from Kennedy) and the bloodbath at judgement day 04 sped up eddies death.

I'm sure all the concussions from unprotected chair shots (such as the one from Kennedy) didn't exactly help Eddie's health, I don't think the blood loss should have had anything to do with it considering it was over a year and a half removed.

They also had Eddie's mother have a heart attack in the ring caused by JBL I don’t remember the full story but on Prichard’s podcast he says that she was suppose to go fake the heart attack but while she was out there eddies mother did actually suffer a small heart attack
