I'm surprised at the long delay, but MLW's strategy has always been to chop up their live events into hour blocks and air them on YouTube and BeIn Sports, so this really isn't surprising.

it's super obvious who's gonna win the battle riot right? unless MLW decides to swerve us which I don't think will happen

Great seeing Zicky Dice.

When the match was announced and Fatu refused his earlier challenge it was kinda obvious he was I've pretty much stopped paying attention to MLW, so I didn't see either. Hammerstone somehow getting even more cringe isn't exactly inspiring me to tune back in for anything more than a curiosity watch. The plant with the baby oil...yeesh.

I was pretty underwhelmed by the Battle Riot to be honest. I thought entrants were coming in way too fast, and they let the ring get CLUTTERED before doing anything really cool, especially when you got guys like Calvin Tankman who should be throwing bodies out left and right. There's no reason to have a Royal Rumble style match get 20 guys in the ring before doing any eliminations.
That said, I am excited to see Hammerstone vs. Fatu, given how long they've been building that, even with the pandemic being a big reason for that extended build.

I only tuned in for one reason and it was so good to see Dario back but wow that whole entire segment was not good.
Philly crowd really did not care for him except for the spattering of believers who I know were at the tapings and that "lucha" chant they cut to lol clever MLW real clever came from the actual lucha match which I am baffled they did not show which was easily the best recieved match of the night so much so philly threw money at them after the match.
But yea went about as I expected happy to see him back but there is such a steep difference in the character of Dario and whatever MLW was trying to get him to portray here and seems end up going in the direction I always thought it would in that azteca underground was never going to be its own thing but just Cesar is going to do segments for MLW because they just do not have the money to pull that off.
The "who the f*** are you" from Dario got a nice laugh outta me though.

I am a huge fan of the first two Battle Riot matches but this one was pretty poor.
Hammerstone is over, but he has no air, would melt any piss cup and is doing Hogan shit for some reason???
I used to like MLW a lot but I think they are really falling off. The booking of that match was ridiculous, they didn't even manage to book the one overall angle of it well.
And the surprise entrants aside from Meanie were unbelievably poor.

I had only watched touches of MLW and was taking this as my premiere so to speak and it wasn't the best impression there.

I had only watched touches of MLW and was taking this as my premiere so to speak and it wasn't the best impression there. They had a good run of shows from the 2019 opera cup till the pandemic break. The post pandemic shows we’re fine but I’m really things pick up now they have fans again.

Watched the Battle RIot III on Youtube and had a blast. Lots of nice surprises. Plus never thought I would see Kwang and Kim Chee again.

So is MLW back on BeIn or is on Vice?
I think the problem was having the opening segment with Dari . . . Cesar. It was fun but they could've shelved it and saved it for another episode and shown the entire Battle Riot. It was really confusing coming back from commercial and seeing 3-4 new guys in the ring with no mention of who they were from the announcers only to come back from another commercial break with half the participants eliminates, again with no mention of anything from the announcers.
Highlight for me was EJ Nduka.

The post-pandemic break stuff hasn't been great, but the pre-pandemic stuff generally ranges from genuinely good to perversely entertaining. Go for the first Battle Riot and Opera Cup tournament in particular. Mance/MJF in the latter's last match for MLW and the Lawlor/Ki cage match too, both were great. I miss Mance, I really do. He was so much fun.

I finally watched Battle Riot last night as well. I definitely felt that there were pacing issues for the first half (no elimination until #19, so many people on the floor). Things picked up by the second half and most of the surprises were fun.
I did see a lot of flack online about Hammerstone winning, but outside of the Hogan imagery, he was really made the most sense to win in-storyline.
It was fun, and I hope crowds bring back some of the magic MLW had pre-pandemic.
