There was one year when gaming magazines received a few edicts from WWE regarding screenshots being included in reviews of one of their games. One of them was that they weren't allowed to show Trips in a compromised (defenseless or vulnerable) position. How insecure are you that you can't even stand seeing yourself lose in a video game? One magazine reviewed the game and showed Triple H being attacked by Kane (I believe). Never forget that Triple H was in full control of NXT when Bill DeMott was brought back and put in charge of injuring, abusing and persecuting a generation of stars, with talent who complained to management being hung out to dry and released. He wants to take credit for everything good that happens in NXT under his watch, yet there's no responsibility taken for the bullying and harassment that happened prior to DeMott being ousted. Like father (in law), like son (in law).

I like Triple H, but he did alot of dickish things especially in the 2000s, like making fun of Chris Masters on live TV for losing alot of mass due to wellness(even though I think Chris looked way better not being super jacked like he was), giving pedigrees to London & Kendrick, and the aforementioned making fun of Lillian Garcia. Like it felt like he was trying to the coolest guy in the room, and trying to be both The Rock and Austin at the same time and failing at both.
I also heard some bad stories about him and Chyna in the 90s big leaguing people and being not so nice.

I use to hear that Edge wasn't a fan and outside of the rated rko vs dx fued they basically were never on the same brand together so I wondered big it had merit. Edge was definitely not a fan when he was on RAW in 2004-2007. Triple H went out of his way to undercut him at the hottest point in his career (hmm, sounds familiar...). Triple H saw a heel getting hotter than him, and he killed that shit quick.

There really aren't many specific stories beyond general insecure jerk. He's played the game very well indeed.

There really aren't many specific stories beyond general insecure jerk. He's played the game very well indeed. Yeah, there's 100s of stories of him making selfish creative decisions. And yeah, that's annoying and has made the product worse over the years. But in terms of how "bad" his stories are, in the wrestling business he's a boy scout. As far as I know, there aren't even any stories of him being stiff in the ring with anyone.

According to Scott Steiner Triple H "can't pleasure his wife to save his own life".

He's a good study in the generation gap between wrestlers. If he was coming up today he'd be seen as a shit. "Am I going over?", putting his own booking over that of the product, insecure, wanting to be the center of attention, self indulgent, mocking a woman for her looks, mocking a guy for losing weight, boomer style racism "bumblebee man", holding grudges and putting his dislike of some into the booking (Punk, Jericho) and so on.
If he'd came up in the 80s era he'd be seen as a saint. Steroids aside no real substance problems (indeed he helped some of his friends who had such problems), devoted to his wife and doesn't see female fans as being there for his personal entertainment, professional in the ring, mentoring the youth, not intent on proving himself as a real life tough guy at the expense of his opponents, avoiding the klan style racism that Hogan evidently was into, wouldn't smash up bars or hotels in a drunken tantrum.
I guess he came up in the 90s so is a mix of the two generations.

I also heard some bad stories about him and Chyna in the 90s big leaguing people and being not so nice. That's basically Triple H in a nutshell. He's always been insecure about his image and position, and he's used his influence and the freedom he had that others didn't, to reinforce his status. Whether that was from being booked as a dominant, "cerebral" asskicker in the ring, or a lecturing bore on the microphone, or as a wisecracker who could always leave opponents speechless by breaking kayfabe in ways other people weren't allowed to. And honestly, in a business that's had more than its fair share of genuinely awful people, including child molesters, rapists and murderers, he's a relative prince of decency.

I guess he came up in the 90s so is a mix of the two generations. If anything it just shows that he abused the power he had in his own booking while a fully active wrestler. I also think hanging out with the kliq early on, didn't help anything. He saw how they benefited from politicking and got to a point of power where no one could stop him. I still think he would rose to the top as the #1 heel, especially in 2000. With the Rock, Austin and Foley as very popular faces, you needed a foil and HHH was established enough at that point to do it. He was also pretty good at it. But his reign of terror would have most likely not happened and they would have went with more popular wrestlers. But if he was coming up today, it would have been a completely different situation. It's really hard to tell who HHH would have been had he not been in brought in by the kliq and never married Stephanie, not to mention how much Vince has changed since the 90s. Also, his wrestling style was heavily influenced by 80s NWA, so I am sure that would have changed as well. In another way he would fit in, unlike a lot of wrestlers of his time who came in from bodybuilding(granted he did pursue it, but mainly to become a wrestler), other sports and having families in the business, HHH was a fan.

Thing about Triple h is: He is a poltician ,even with all the shitty stories about him he knows how to nake himself look good.
And nowdays the fans are those people.Thats is why you will always see him taking photos with talent and being featured in popular groups.
