Kings and Dewayne Dedmon have a strong mutual interest. If they donβt sign Horford (Iβm assuming NOLA with his IG follows) this is the kind of move I want. A stop-gap until Giles is ready. Dedmon is actually a really underrated center. He can shoot 3s occasionally, solid on defense, great on the boards. And won't cost a fortune. You basically get a better WCS, only cheaper and isn't delusional about what he is. Good to hear. Seems like a solid move then! And itβs a move I like better than maxing Vuc or going out and getting Capela, because I truly believe Giles is the future and I donβt think Dedmon would be the undisputed long-term starter like they would. Another year of strength and development for Giles and they swap places.

The Walker signing is big for Boston. At the very least it confirms that the Celtics are still a team that can attract top free agents. And with Kyrie leaving a huge source of tension has left too. But much as I despise Kyrie you can't lay all the blame for the Celtics collapse on him. Angie, Stevens, Hayward and the young guys all share in the blame too. And the questions surrounding them still have yet to be answered. The biggest question is can Brown and/or Tatum take the step forward after stagnating last year? They're going to be expected to pick up some of the slack with Irving gone. Tatum especially needs to be more agressive and stop settling for long 2's so often. Can Hayward recover and play closer to his pre-injury form? While it was understandable that it was going to take time for him to reacclimate the minutes he was getting while playing poorly was a clear source of tension with the team. If he can't recover he may not get the same chances this year. And then there's Stevens. While I consider him to be a good X's and O's man he struggled with his rotations and getting everone on the same page. While have less mouths to feed will help the Celtics kept making the same mistakes all year which calls Brad's ability to reach out to his players into question. If the Celtics keep having the same problems this year Brad could be on the hot seat. And this team looks far from complete, having too many wing players and not enough big men (unless you count Tacko Fall ). Will Danny Ainge be able to make to moves necessary for this team to compete with the best in the east? He may even have to part with someone like Jaylen Brown to do so. Still I'm pleased with what I see. The Celtics may not be able to complete for a Championship right now but after the joy got sucked right out of me last year I just want to have fun watching them again.

Another year of strength and development for Giles and they swap places. That's why he works. A versatile center, who can sometimes move out to the perimeter so the spacing isn't messing up Bagley's offensive game. And he can play capable until the time comes and he moves aside, or if Giles doesn't develop or is injured. Dedmon shot 49%/38%/81% and a steal and a block per game on 25 minutes a night, and is not yet 30. So he can be ecfective in less minutes, or has the potential to be better if given the opportunity.

Pelicans will not bid for Al Horford
Looking like he will go the Kings. Assuming they donβt accommodate Butler trade to Rockets or Miami they can also sign Horford

Nikola Mirotic signs a six-year, $80M deal with Barcelona. Damn thats damn near comparable NBA money. Don't blame him for going either. His own teammate on a garbage team breaks his jaw in one of the only actual NBA fights ever, a weird fit at times in NO, mostly injured or DNP in Milwaukee. Should have gone better for him, but went as bad as possible for him. If that happened to me, I'd head back overseas too.

Nikola Mirotic signs a six-year, $80M deal with Barcelona. Good enough to an NBA deal so I don't blame him for leaving I think he could have gotten $13-15 million per year but even on a 4 year deal that still tops out at $60 million Him going to Spain and Collinson retiring are the two biggest shockers thus far

Utah will make a serious offer to Bojan Bogdanovic
Pacers will have the right match any deal but I can see this being a very high deal forcing them to withdraw. Him and Ingles on the court speading the floor for Conley and Donovan is a good look in crunch time

Him and Ingles on the court speading the floor for Conley and Donovan is a good look in crunch time Utah always goes for white guys. But Bojan can shoot. Almost 50% from the field and a ridiculous 42.5% from three. Those are Steph Curry type percentages. He'd be a great add to the slashing Mitchell.

I know we gonna put Boston's failed season on Kyrie, but a lot of it should go to Ainge and Stevens, tooo That's me slicing up the "blame pie" for Kyrie Irving, Danny Ainge, and Brad Stevens. Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens were there when a woefully-undermanned Celtics team won 53 games and finished first in the Eastern Conference in 2016-17. Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens were there when an injury-ravaged Celtics team won 55 games and pushed the Cavaliers to game seven of the Eastern Conference Finals in 2017-18. But Kyrie Irving was there when the 2018-19 Celtics totally failed to live up to expectations, won only 49 games, and got swamped by the Bucks in the Conference Semifinals. Sure, Ainge could get some blame for not understanding how Irving's mercurial nature could poison the Celtics' roster and assembling a roster that clashed every time they needed to coalesce. Sure, Stevens could get some blame for his continued push for Gordon Hayward to receive minutes even when it was clear that Hayward wasn't close to 100 percent. And sure, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Terry Rozier III all could receive some blame for regressing in 2018-19. But Kyrie Irving was the straw that stirred the drink and this past season, he took a piss in that drink.

The biggest thing I blame Ainge for (if you want to call it blame) is continuing to hold onto assets and not make a move. At some point having a bunch of picks has to translate to something. And Steven's was stubborn with Hayward but I think as the season progressed they found a role that worked for Gordon. That being said. It is telling that pretty much all of the Celtics numbers. Including defense and eins, were better when Kyrie wasnt playing. Kyrie is very gifted but he has shown he doesnt handle being the guy very well.

Sam Amick says the Kings expect him to go elsewhere though. Max money free agent spurns Kings after they help drive his price up... what else is new.
