In theory if their coach was smart and played them right and managed their bench minutes with some Hardin heavy and Westbook heavy stretches; Houston should never have those "bench players needs to produce points" minutes in any game. Any team that suffers from depth issues will get gassed at the end just trying to keep pace.
Which means instead that Houston will of course run the legs off Hardin and Westbook in the regular season and wonder why they lay down and die in the playoffs.

Also, I've been seriously considering getting NBA League Pass on DirecTV. This coming season is gonna be insane.

Honestly, Capela should be averaging 15-18 ppg since he will be able to get a thousand lobs if they run like they are supposed to

They feel like they have hit a ceiling, but the top of the West is more wide-open to the point that they may actually win it at some point.

They took a step in the right direction but still hit a wall against Warriors as usual. With the Warriors not being the same they have a chance but they still need a 3rd reliable guy behind those two imo but the team overall is solid Pau said after he signed with Portland that Aldridge has hinted at wanting a return to Portland so that could also be an option if San Antonio decides to start over

Got the expiring contract of Whiteside to deal and give up one of their young guys in Little, Simmons, or Hoard Idk how much longer Aldridge deal runs though so obviously luxury tax would be a bitch but they all in with Dame and CJ anyway so no point in not going the extra mile for however long you want to afford it

Smaller markets need to pour gas on the fire when they get the chance, but it also makes plenty of sense not to since it's hard for non-super teams to turn a big profit in luxury tax hell.

Yea, like OKC footed a big bill for a long time and they have the fan turn out to justify it but I couldn't blame the owner for saying nah i'm done Cavs owner Dan Gilbert may be an idiot but he took on a big bill for LeBron and paid that money out. Not a lot of owners will be willing to but in this NBA climate you have to a least give yourself a 5 year window to do whatever it takes if you are in the position to win

Not a lot of owners will be willing to but in this NBA climate you have to a least give yourself a 5 year window to do whatever it takes if you are in the position to win I agree with the sentiment. If you're a basketball team outside of Los Angeles, New York City, Miami, Texas, or the Bay Area, you pretty much have to push your chips to the center of the table and go all-in when the opportunity presents itself. Free agents aren't going to put cities like Milwaukee, Portland, or Oklahoma City on their list of potential destinations, so if you have a homegrown team that is one or two pieces away from a legitimate championship contender, you've got to make a run at it. The Cleveland Cavaliers may be a wasteland right now with no light at the end of the tunnel coming any time soon, but they went for it and were rewarded with a championship in 2016. I can't imagine there are any Cavs fans who would say it wasn't worth it. The same goes for Raptors fans right now. They went all-in last season, won a title, and now they're stuck in mediocrity. But I'd say a 44-win season following a championship year is still well worth the gamble.

The worst thing you can have on your label as a owner right now is being cheap when you have a chance to compete because the window for a championship is not big and you have to make the best of it or you're f***ed so I appreciate teams like Milwaukee, Portland, Cavs (previously), saying they will take on the bill in the hopes of winning I can't blame the Thunder GM for saying enough is enough either because he paid money for a long time and still is but he saw the team was crumbling and decided enough was enough. A little financial relief can go a big way in figuring out your team and retooling like Clippers did getting rid of Blake, Jordan, CP3 and now they have a championship team

Lance Stephenson is going to play in China
A little surprised he didn't get an NBA deal even for the minimum but the China deal is for $4 million for one year and he most likely will get his chance to play again later during the season

Carmelo Anthony wants a farewell tour like D. Wade or Dirk got. Melo I love you, but naaaaaaaaaaaah. Yea, I actually meant to comment on it yesterday I do not think Melo deserves a farewell tour and I agree with Stephen A when he said that too. Do not get me wrong, Melo is a no doubt HOF basketball player and one of the greatest but unlike Dirk and Wade, he has nothing tow in his career in terms of a memorable moment or being fondly remembered as a guy who went above and beyond for his team. Melo was money first and that bit him. Don't get me wrong i'm not fond of super teams but in Melo case he had the chance to sacrifice and go to Miami and play with LeBron and Wade but he didn't. He didn't stay cause his loyalty to the Knicks, he stayed because they gave him the most money. Same with when he was going to be traded from Denver and instead of waiting for NY with you saying you want to come, you said nah i'm going to whoever can trade for me and offer me the money therefore stripping that Knicks team of talent to acquire you Guys like Dirk and Wade was team first and made sacrifices. Melo did not and he went out not changing his game to accommodate for that. I hate to compare him to Paul Pierce but this is like when Pierce was asking where his love is for retirement when Kobe got all the love and it is like bro you're not on that level Melo needs to open his own damn mouth and say something because the guy who said it made it much worse for him to get on a team. They want a Melo who will have days he isn't getting in the game and not complain, not Melo who will mope on the bench and worry about his legacy
