I think Lakers will be better than the shit show some are predicting but yeah, that depth will not cut it in a tough west. It depends a lot on what version of Lebron plays next year and how long it takes him and AD to mesh together on the court. I think they can be a lower seed playoff team and getting Davis is going to cover up a lot of the incompetence in team-building the front office has made. But they don't have the depth to make a championship run. This isn't the same situation as when Prime Lebron carried the Cavs kicking and screaming through a terrible East just to get steamrolled by the Spurs or the Warriors.

I think Lakers will be better than the shit show some are predicting but yeah, that depth will not cut it in a tough west. With LeBron and AD they are far from a shit show However, they missed out on a ton of depth and now essentially outside of maybe Green or Morris, everyone will be on 1 year deals and they try to get depth next year As constituted, they really don't have the ability to sit LBJ or Davis for rest and not suffer a massive drop. Also add on, unless they add a Center that means Kuzma jumps into the starting line up Like Frank "What's Rest?" Vogel would let LBJ or AD sit.

Also add on while Rockets have had their issues and Warriors are down Klay and KD, you still can't count those teams out Lakers are sitting behind Clippers, Jazz, Rockets with Denver on their ass

Warriors also might get Klay back midseason. Depends a LOT on how long it takes for him to fully heal. Though TBH, I think they might almost miss Iguodala more than Durant. And if the deal for D'Lo goes through, that's still a real competitive team.

The Lakers had $32m, which is now down to $17m with the Green signing.
Bobby Marks just said on SportsCenter that Davis no longer needs to waive his trade kicker, and can request it since the deal is not official yet. If he decides to keep it (since no max player is coming), that $17m becomes ~$12m to get a solid bench and at least two other starters.

I KNEW he wanted the Clippers. Kawhi once avoided media availability until he legally contractually couldnβt anymore, you think THAT dude was signing up to be part of the never-ending LeBron media circus?! He gets what he wanted all along living in LA without the added bullshit and for a better coaching staff and front office. This worked out great for him.

Goddamn I hate that the Kings are in the West! Hopefully this triggers Adam Silver to do top 16 teams in the playoffs. The West is absolutely stacked again.

As a little brother myself, shout-out to Nets & Clippers for getting victories over their big brothers this offseason.

Props to PG for getting his preferred money and team, even if the latter was a year later than expected. We can officially say that:
1. The Pacers won that trade. 2. No longer should teams feel good about trading for players that want to go elsewhere. George re-signing with OKC was the blueprint for teams like Toronto to trade for Kawhi, and now both of them ran to Clippers as they always wanted.
EDIT: Lakers bringing back KCP for 2yr/$16m. That shrinks their remaining cap to $9m (or $4m if Davis keeps the trade kicker). EDIT 2: Lakers bringing back JaVale McGee for 2yr/$8.2m. Getting lower, with their room exception and vet minimums as a saving grace.
