Magic Johnson was getting coaches fired before Lebron was even born. It's always been a star player driven league,we just know more behind the scenes now Yeah, that's my entire point. Not that this has never happened before. But there's no pretense of power structure on teams anymore, and everything is out in the open.

Social media has been around for a long time and this trend just started recently. Hockey and baseball have no problem keeping most things in-house still, despite modern media and social media. You keep pushing this idea that he has nothing to do with something he's heavily and directly influenced. It's like saying that Curt Flood isn't that important because we would've gotten there eventually. It's kinda right and kinda dense.

Yeah, there has always been problems between management, coaches and players but for the most part it was always behind scenes and even if a player didn’t like the coach, they’d put up with them until it wasn’t working Shaq talked about how they asked him about a coach when he got to L.A and he said he wanted Phil Jackson or he’s leaving. Over the last few years it has become more acceptable that the player picks his coach. When LeBron did that to Blatt when they winning to get Lue and it resulted in a title, others are going to try it if their stock is high enough

Rumors going around about the Atkinson stuff
Supposedly he didn’t want to coach KD and Kyrie next year and decided a new voice was needed
Kyrie wasn’t too crazy about him but wasn’t trying to get him fired

You don't normally hear about a coach not wanting to coach players. And on the subject of getting coaches fired, I'm surprised KD didn't try to get Donovan fired after he came out on his burner and blasted him.

KD and Kyrie should be a good combo, but won’t be elite and heaven forbid it be the star players faults, so when they underachieve to some degree it would be all Atkinson’s fault.

Expectations were going to be crazy and players already complaining this year. Reports say him and Sean Marks were close and Marks was telling him the players were unhappy so Kenny said f** that shit and dipped

Yeah the min they fall short it’s his ass and I’m sure he saw he was on a one year deal so he took his fate into his own hands He’s a great coach and he will no doubt have a job this offseason. Def my top choice for the Knicks right now

What's the deal with Giannis? Is he really hurt that badly? My theory is, due to his low minute usage, because Bucks at times were acting arrogant by not playing him minutes. His body wasn't use to the lighter work load.
Great job Coach Bud. There's a reason Hawks fans didn't like you either. Play the man so he gets into the rhyhem and his body is use to playoff minutes.

Avery Bradley went down under the bucket and caused Giannis to land really badly on his (right?) leg. Looked pretty bad at first, but he stayed in the game. All his shots were short after that, so something may well be wrong there. None of that had anything to do with workload. None of it had anything to do with workload.

And reports are the Irving wants his pandering players coach, the aforementioned “Tyronn Lue”... to be Tyronn Lue.
Lol wonderful.

This Lakers-Clippers game legit has me wondering what the spin will be if the Clippers lose. I know if the Lakers lose, I know there ill be people saying how huge this is and how it means the Lakers are done in the Playoffs. But if the Clippers lose, I fully expect some version of the narrative to be "It's a meaningless March game" or "Clippers were not playing as hard because they are focused on the playoffs" or "But opening night and Christmas day" or something along those line. Clippers win, it's a vitally important statement making game. Clippers lose, it's a meaningless March game.

If the Clippers are going to continue being a competitive franchise, they really need their own stadium.
It'd still make a classic Western Conference Finals, homecourt disadvantage and all that.

And skip bayless having a cornary tommorow morning is gonna be the cherry ontop of everything Oh he's already saying the Clippers didn't really want the game and blaming Marcus Morris for the loss. Said too he's expecting Shannon to "over celebrate" a win in early March. Never mind that Skip over celebrated the opening night and Christmas day Clipper wins.

The Spurs chose a bad time to get bitten by the injury bug... Marco is sick, Aldridge's shoulder injury is a problem, Poeltl might be out for a couple of weeks and Lonnie didn't play tonight because of a shin contusion... Some Spurs fans have been vocal about letting the young guys play things out and see what happens but I don't think this was what they had in mind...

So... The Spurs are in for a rough ride... Aldridge is hurt, Poeltl is hurt, Lonnie is hurt, Marco is sick, DeMar DeRozan is sporting dreadlocks that make his head resemble a volleyball and now Dejounte Murray is declared out for the Mavericks game tomorrow with a calf strain... Everything that can go wrong is going wrong at the worst of times...
