The draff has always been a quick turnaround after the season. Depending on when the Finals ended, the draft would likely fall right after that.

Yea, we typically know at least who are the top 2-3 picks are and everything else falls into place The big thing this year is uncertainty tho. Wiseman, Ball are projected top picks but stopped playing months ago. College season was cut short so players you are unsure on you don't really have a profile on plus you can't do workouts at the moment.

Windhorst on ESPN bringing up what I said, if the season goes late then next season probably wouldn't start until December around Xmas
NBA will essentially keep the season possibility up until NFL starts

Yea, plus if anything they could go to a more intimate setting. Now, how that will work in their arenas and those agreements, idk but if you not getting fans that really doesn't matter anyway NBA is willing to wait tho and have the season finish up until the NFL season starts it seems so they got time

At first, it was they could probably return in late April-May. Then June. Now probably July, if not August. The draft will be pushed back, next season will be pushed back. We were so optimistic to think that this would result in a 4-6 week shutdown, now we could be looking at a year+ before we could see NBA games with attendance. Also, of course the first legal, local sportsbook opened up in my area....on Sunday at the start of this week. I waited so long.....

Yea, we are hitting that 2 weeks window where the test will come out The fortunate thing for them if you want to call it that is they are catching it early and for the most part the players are asymptomatic All NBA players hopefully have quarantined themselves like Smart did

That's the tip of the iceberg for community spread to put it lightly. Man, we could see staggering positive numbers over the next few weeks.

Yea, the numbers of infected will peak in about two weeks and the hope is it trails off by the end of April so we can get back to normal in May If people keep getting infected in basketball they might just cancel the season

That's assuming they can safely travel in airports and have a protocol in place to check players which I assume they will try to do what the white house and Wall Street does to check temperature Even when things get back to normal it's going to be an adjusting period but no doubt we might see the most intense amount of basketball in a long time when they do

NBA TV sadly not showing live games this time of year, but a replay of Game 6 of the 2006 NBA Finals. Shockingly, Shaq wasn't the 2nd leading scorer on that team in the Finals. Toine was. White Chocolate was 4th with under 9 points a game.
For one, that type of scoring would never fly (35/14/14/9 a game from the top 4 scorers) today, but also the Mavs played some REALLY bad, ugly basketball this series and Miami wasn't very far ahead. I was so excited at the time to see Wade and Shaq and Toine and White Chocolate win a title, but that series was like 75% ass. Though, Mourning was a beast on the defensive end. He was going full-bore, just two years removed from returning after his kidney transplant. He had 5 blocks in this series-clinching game 6 in just 14 minutes. He only played meaningful minutes in one more season. He knew this was about it, and he threw his body around like he was The Wrestler.
Also worth noting that at the time, Avery Johnson was thought to be the next big thing in coaching. Only his 2nd season as a HC and was in the Finals and Coach of the Year winner. It was all downhill from there in Dallas, even worse in New Jersey, and an overall uninspiring stint at Alabama has him currently out of coaching altogether. Such is the life cycle of most NBA coaches not named Pop or Kerr.

Cool video from simpler times when it was just two dudes competing with each other and nothing else mattered.

That series was piss poor and the Mavs shit themselves If it wasn't for that ring Dirk won against Miami, he no doubt still would have been respected and one of the greatest big men ever but without that ring you could not argue against he was a massive underachiever

But he shot 39% from the field and 25% from 3, and a negative assist to turnover ratio. It was also the really weird in-between time when the Mavs didn't have Steve Nash anymore, but also hadn't acquired Jason Kidd back yet. Their guards were a mess except Jet, and Dampier was their starting center. The team overall overachieved, but Dirk really shit himself in the Finals.
