The Clippers could win 3 titles in a row and never be as popular as the Lakers in that city. Not sure a new/different arena will do anything to build their brand up anymore than being in Staples does. When they play the Lakers in a different arena, Lakers fans would still out number them.

LeBron says that they can't just go to the playoffs if they return
Yeah, idk about that. Y'all going have to suck it up and play. You going have to use the playoffs to warm up and get right. Give the team a week or two to get ready once you get all the clear, set the day for the playoffs and get it going. No plausible way they can finish off the rest of the season and still do a full playoffs without this going to October

LeBron says that they can't just go to the playoffs if they return Yeah, idk about that. Y'all going have to suck it up and play. You going have to use the playoffs to warm up and get right. Give the team a week or two to get ready once you get all the clear, set the day for the playoffs and get it going. No plausible way they can finish off the rest of the season and still do a full playoffs without this going to October LeBron needs to just stop saying every thought that comes to his head. NBA and NHL are both probably gonna scrap the rest of the regular season AT THE LEAST, if not shorten playoff series. It makes total sense. It's less of a big deal because one of the main reasons games don't get cancelled is because of tickets sold. With no crowds for the foreseeable future, that's out the window. We already have a large sample size, so playing more season isn't 100% necessary. |

There is no point in having regular season games when this much time has been scrapped. He will be lucky if the playoffs don’t get shortened. 80% of the season was played which is good enough to do start a playoff run Even Brian Windhorst said LeBron and the NBA players better get used to the new normal. Even when they do come back, it could possibly be without fans and in an isolated location. |

Everyone knows LA will always be the Lakers town, but I think it's more about Steve Ballmer wanting the Clippers to no longer be a punchline and their own fanbase to finally have something to call home that isn't either rundown (LA Sports Arena) or being the second or even third banana (Arrowhead Pond and Staples Center). Ideally, it would be better to just renovate the Forum and make it once again a basketball arena since the last thing LA needs is another sporting venue (I can probably name at least five things they need to work on), but... you know, it is what it is. |
