And this is where I criticize LeBron a little bitย I wouldn't say he has an obligation to be apart of this stuff but for some reason when it comes to NBA events, he shies away from it despite being the face of the NBA. Whether it be a skills competition, dunk contest, etc during the NBA season he really isn't apart of it and it shines a little more here with him not being part of the HORSE challenge Ultimately, this all means nothing. Just a little observation I noticed with him. He going get them Tik Tok videos out tho for sureย I think LeBron just doesn't see the reward in stuff like this or the dunk contest. If he wins, cool everyone expected it. But if he loses, then he's never gonna hear the end of it. Which I get, but it's undoubtedly a very pre-pandemic attitude to have. Donโt get me wrong I get it. I always felt he should have done the dunk contest his first four years before he became The Star he is but he never decided to do it and never will Earlier in his career was more likely some insecurities but now he just canโt be bothered since itโs more trouble then itโs worth. Including the Horse contest

A few days ago I was thinking to myself that if the coronavirus pandemic couldn't unite us as a nation, that if the thought of thousands of people dying and hundreds of thousands becoming sick with a virus with no known cure couldn't cause us to put aside our petty differences of what side of the political aisle we stand on, nothing could.
But something did. We saw it last night on social media. For a brief few hours, the United States became truly united. Everyone f***ing hated HORSE. I can't remember the last time I saw something that was unanimously reviled like that, where every single person hopped onto Twitter to say some variation of "Holy s**t, this sucks." It was almost inspiring.

In NBA news, Jalen Green is skipping college and going to the G League Going be interesting to see how this plays out That's the biggest get for the G League. It'll be interesting what team gets him. Capitanes are the odd ones in the league, given they likely won't have any affiliation, but due to being in Mexico City, likely will not be the ideal location for quality talent from America, so will have to rely on the best players from Mexico and anyone willing to live or commute to Mexico City for a few months.

On one hand, if young prospects have no intentions of finishing school or at least go to class for one semester then I guess the G league is a good alternative, but on the other, I feel like its cheating the system.

College is stilm the best way to prove yourself, and if we're being honest, it probably pays better too. But colleges have a completely unknown future.
Honestly, I don't understand why the NBA pushed the draft back unless they expect the season to be finished or try to. And that's just for draft order. We had a pretty good idea of who was going top 20, and after that it's always anyone's guess.

They want to get paid as opposed to actually playing their peers and if anything comes on the ledger your ass is sitting However, college is still the best option. Overseas play for young players going over has been hit and miss. G League is unproven and we shall see how that goes. Ideally G League would be the place to go. It should be a place for prospects to grow and learn but with the way the NBA is and how one player can turn your franchise around, young guys are 18 is not going to be willing to sit 2 years or so to actually get good and be NBA ready because outside of a select few, really majority of your rookie class should be spending their first year of their pro career in the G League

Maybe just a little more carefully post-FBI investigation. I think the real question now is what's going to happen in the post-Covid era. They were going with the double class in 2022 when HSers can declare again. But that's just the next fall basketball season. That's gonna be dudes who declared from HS a year from now. As much as we want everything to be back to normal by then, who knows? Who knows if college basketball is played this upcoming season? If it isn't, what decisions will these 18 year olds be making? Everything is so up in the air until then, this class and the next one have no idea what to bank on rn.

www.cbssports.com/nba/news/76ers-ben-simmons-confident-he-will-develop-an-effective-shooting-game-i-know-its-going-to-come/Ben Simmons out here still making excuses for his jump shot Saying people are making a big deal of it a little too much NO THEY ARE NOT!!! For reasons like this quote below and how empty threats didn't work "I told Ben, 'If you aren't willing to shoot, then do I just bench you? Because I can do that,'" Brown said, via Jackie MacMullan of ESPN. "We could have gone that route or continue to coach him as it relates to spacing. We worked on the ability to use it as a choice to shoot the 3, catch and go, get in the paint, or find someone else. This was all discussed. I opted to take this path. I think only down the road will we be able to truly assess if it was the right one."

But what everyone understands you need to improve at, you basically don't shoot AT ALL? It's like he doesn't understand what he's saying. He doesn't want to be a bad shooter, so he doesn't attempts 3s until he knows he'll be amazing at it. That's not how it works. Every guys who has expanded his game beyond the arc has had growing pains shooting. Giannis, BLo, Ibaka, etc etc. It's impossible to go from 0 to 100 overnight. You can practice all you want, you can't avoid the process of trying to get better in actual NBA games. Worse, he attempted 11 threes as a rookie. He's attempted 12 in the over 1.5 seasons since. He's regressed in attempting threes, and doesn't get it. It's a huge issue because he doesn't try. Who has the worst 3 point percentage this season? Nobody f***in knows. If he attempted one 3 a game ad shot 29%, nobody would care because A) It wouldn't be a headline when he attempted a 3 and B) Nobody expects him to be a good deep shooter in the first place. I've always given Ben the benefit of the doubt because so many have developed an outside game over time. But you don't get there if you don't try. He's afraid to try because he's afraid to fail, but he won't admit that.

He's afraid to try because he's afraid to fail, but he won't admit that. The rational behind it just doesnโt make sense and no one has called him out on it. As you said you canโt go from 0 to 100 overnight because this stuff takes time. Thereโs a reason athletic guards become better shooters as their careers come along because they work at it hit but for some reason Ben doesnโt do that You canโt be a poor shooter if you donโt take the shot. If you have so much confidence in your shot, why arenโt you doing it in an NBA game where they literally leave you wide open. This is an issue all around from coaching, to Ben to his teammates. Best believe if Jimmy was still there heโd be on his ass about this I stopped giving Ben the benefit of doubt last year and this only reinforces it. You signed a max deal and is comfortable just being an all star instead of a potential susperstar

Pascal Siakam started playing organized ball like 7 years ago, and 3 years ago didn't have an offensive game at all, and he's got a 3 point shot now to go along with improved handles, a mid range shot, etc.. Simmons needs to stop with the BS. It has to be mental with him because there's no reason why he can't attempt more shots or go to the gym and try to improve. Maybe he's doing the latter but the mental part is too much to overcome, but the league is now a 3 point shooting league. He has to at least give defenses a reason to guard him on the perimeter, otherwise he'll get exposed in a half court setting every time.

I'm going to call it Dwight Howard syndrome Every year for about 5 years straight, Howard went to see Hakeem to work on his low post game and footwork. He'd come back showcasing new moves in practice and use them the first two weeks of the season before he does none of it for the rest of the year. Ben Simmons is hitting that same thing for me at this point. For the last two years you've heard he is doing it in practice and you see video but yet he doesn't do it in the game It don't matter how much you practice unless you actually execute in game time
