My problem is KG stay in his feelings It was going to be mutually beneficial for both sides with KG getting a minority stake but sadly Saunders passed away and everything just went sideways If this was baseball and he had to pick a jersey to go in with, it no doubt should be Minnesota. The Garnett deal would have been mutually beneficial. They screwed him over so I don't blame him for taking it out on them. I know it's up to him, but... Wolves fans don't have a lot going for them. Let them have Garnett retire his number so they can have something to be prideful over. |

I miss basketball but man that HORSE tournament sounds lame as hell.
I’ll give Silver credit for being innovative though. Definitely the best commish in American sports. Always adapting and willing to try new things. The NFL doesn’t have to because they are the most popular sport in the country, and MLB is stuck in 1953 where they feel more like church than sport. I’ll give props to the NBA for not putting anyone in any potential danger while still trying to provide content to a world that needs some.

Others in his position could easily power trip. He has shown he is willing to listen and willing to adapt to a rapidly changing culture. People are cutting cords, so he turns the NBA into the most social media saavy sports company in the world. He doesn't complain about copyright laws when people post content on YouTube or gif's on Twitter. He knows in the long run that's going to get more eye balls on the product and make more money for the league down the road when the baby boomers (who love football and baseball) get phased out. Even little things like changing the All Star game rules this past year, making it a fantasy draft format a few years ago, and so on. He's willing to adapt and change things on the fly, while other leagues will stubbornly keep status quo. I think this HORSE idea is boring as hell, but again, he's doing something that no one else is willing to try. Goddell is just someone who knows he runs a sport where the players are routinely screwed in the CBA (revenues/salaries, non guaranteed contracts, etc), but it doesn't matter because the league is bigger than any individual team or player, and is making ridiculous money every year. Manfred has a very short sighted mentality. He doesn't care about marketing his players, and everything he does is meant for short term gain while long term it will hurt the league. If he was the commish of the NBA, he'd probably resign. The players would revolt on him. |

People in the NBA are pushing for a month of preparation time if the season comes back and even more prep if it goes straight to playoffs
Yeah I don’t see that happening. Teams are going to have to make the best of it. They might get a week max but a month is time they can’t afford to give for players to just practice and get in game shape again

If I'm Adam Silver (note: I'm not) here's how I'm handling the return of the NBA.
The 8-seeds and 9-seeds in both conferences were separated by at least 3.5 games when play was suspended on March 11, so apologies to the Trail Blazers and Wizards, but the season resumes in the playoffs and the teams that were the top-8 seeds in each conference. We go to Las Vegas and put up the teams in hotels on the strip and have the games played in empty arenas at the various venues in Vegas.
According to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, Nevada's peak for hospital resource use and deaths per day happened earlier this month, so we should be well in the clear to resume practice by May 1. Each team gets a week of practice from May 1 to 9.
The playoffs resume on Sunday, May 10 with the conference quarterfinals as a best two-of-three series, the conference semifinals as a best three-of-five, and the conference finals and NBA Finals a best four-of-seven. Teams only get one day off between games because there will be no travel, as everyone and everything will be centrally located in Las Vegas.
If every single series goes the distance, the NBA Finals would end on Sunday, June 21.

Ok, ESPN showing Ayton and Beverly playing 2K is rock bottom as far as content. I mean, I get that gaming/Esports is popular, and leagues are smart to do it now with live sports shut down, but holy hell they need to find a better format. Get some of the more charismatic players to play it so the banter is at least entertaining, and have someone host it like a podcast where the players can answer questions and play simultaneously.

Next season (the 2020-2021 season) will be amended significantly. A shortened 58-game season (so basically make it feel like a strike-shortened season) that starts January 1 or even Christmas Day. Every team plays every one of the other 29 teams once on the road and once at home. A lot of NBA fans have been saying that the season should be shorter than 82 games anyway, here's the perfect opportunity to do it at least once. |

I just don't see a way the season finishes as that still had a month left plus you have 3 months of playoffs to do. If the season restarts in the middle of May and you don't get into the playoffs until close to July, you're not ending the playoffs until close to October The word is they want the playoffs finished by Labor Day |

Didn't watch it, but the concept is basically people shooting jumpers in their driveways or home gyms. I know the world is craving any sort of sports content right now, but no chance that sticks as a viable option. If it was LeBron or superstar names like that doing it, then maybe, but the rosters they have for this won't draw anyone in. I'll give them credit for trying though. Not exactly easy to come up with things right now when you have to be isolated.
