Despite the NBA's best efforts to try to force Zion Williamson (and the rest of the Pelicans) into the Western Conference playoffs, they have to be ecstatic to have Damian Lillard ripping s**t up on a national stage over the past few weeks.

Nice, Blazers about to take game 1. Like I said I think they win 2 games max in this series, but this definitely exposes a lot of issues with the Lakers. They are a 2 man team and the depth around them is not good.

They definitely did....but give some credit to players like Jared Allen on the Nets too. Yeah the Nets showed some heart today. They are going to be LEGIT next year unless locker room shenanigans blow something up  |

Nice, Blazers about to take game 1. Like I said I think they win 2 games max in this series, but this definitely exposes a lot of issues with the Lakers. They are a 2 man team and the depth around them is not good. The Lakers will still have no one who reliably score outside of AD and Lebron in game2-rest of series and The Blazers have the capability of scoring more then they did tonight. This really could go either way |

Like I said earlier, it feels healthy for the sport to have #1 teams be vulnerable like this. The NBA has had a lot of "automatic" series in the First Round. Nice to see most of them this year are going to be real contests.

Marcus Morris can score, Harrell is great on the offensive end, Lou Will is a microwave, Shamet can shoot. Still they had some pretty epic match-ups this season, but the Clips really seemed to be the better team late in those games in large part due to that depth as well as the defense. LeBron and AD have to play big minutes for them to do really well, and that's gonna make even elite athletes tired having to be "on" for most of the game, then at the end, you have two of the best iso defenders in the game and Pat Bev who is really good as well. It's kinda like the days when the Yankees had Clemens, Pettite, El Duque, and then you finally get those guys out of the game and you have to get a hit off of Rivera. You work so hard all game to make it close enough, and your reward is a tired possession against great defenders. |
